I just got an e-mail that a former teammate of mine, Barney Stoll from Las Vegas, is in St. Rose de Lima Campus hospital and in critical condition. He's been in ICU for 2 weeks with inoperable pnemonia and MRSA (medically resistant staph areus). He's on a ventilator and is sedated at this time. Barney and I were on a 4-way team, "Perris Nasty Habit", last year. He is a quiet and thoughtful guy who always put the other person first. If you want to see a picture of the team, go Here. Barney is the taller man with lighter hair. Please join me and pray for Barney, if that is your belief. Or at least send positive, healing vibes his way. If you want to write a note to Barney, so his family can see what a wonderful family skydivers are, you can send it to me and I'll fwd it onto them. The family is asking for blood donations, and if I can get the information on this I'll post it here. Blood type O+. Thanks, ltdiver ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

LMAO!! I can just see all the people running through the desert, damning the sand and the cactus! Well, that'll be "nice" to show our FAA buddies how our Nationals went this year! ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

That was 'someone's' intent. To keep the 4-way competition numbers to a minimum and not tax this year's National's dz with too many teams. Seems that the fear of a weather day (with as many teams as showed up to Eloy last year attending) would have made for a bad outcome. They wanted to discourage the weekend teams, that didn't feel they could learn the entire dive pool, from the event. Very glad USPA decided to re-think their options. ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

Normally I like 1/2 coffee-1/2 milk, and sugar, with a little Mexican vanilla thrown in for flavor. Just discovered either Kahlua or Peppermint Schnapps is pretty good as well (in my coffee). Any other delectable additions others like? ltdiver ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

Yes, actually I was interested in this web site (deleted now). It was scientific, and if true, informative. If not, just a bit humorous. It was not meant to be offensive or have any hidden message included. Just taken as it was posted. Again, Geez! ltdiver ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

This post was originally informative and if true, helpful to men and their partners. And if not true, just a bit humorous. I heard it on the radio (KFI) and thought it would be interesting to share here. Unfortunately, some people on this NG found it to be offensive and so it has been deleted by me. Truely unfortunate, as it was not meant, in any way, to be taken the wrong way. Sorry guys, ltdiver

The Wo-Man story was a joke, no matter if someone believes in the story or not. Geez...wasn't wanting to debate articles of originality. ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

Specialty pizza shipped from your favorite place! Yummy! My sister-in-law decided she wanted to take a real Chicago Pizza home to MInnisota one winter. So, she ordered one to go (uncooked), then strapped it (no kidding) to the front grill of her Suzuki Sameri, and drove home in the snow and cold! Got home just fine, with the pizza still frozen!! Great eats! ltdiver ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

Perhaps 'cause we don't sit on our butts and type messages on an internet newsgroup all day (and night) long. (sorry...I couldn't resist either.)

Diets & Dying The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you! ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

Thanks, billvon. Interesting. Was it the orange and blue one? Just curious...what were you loading it at? ltdiver ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

PhreeZone, Yeah, the riser pressure was higher than my Spectre-135 as well. But, once in full flight and straightened out, the Sabre2 flew great! Landings were awesome. What wing loading were you giving the Sabre2 you demoed? It's interesting that the openings you experienced were different than expected as well. Thanks for the feedback. I wrote John LeBlanc and am waiting for his reply as well. ltdiver ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

Does anyone here fly a Sabre2? I demoed one this weekend (135 loaded at 1.3:1) and experienced 4 very different openings and immediate flying reactions. From end cells not wanting to open, to a spinning/diving mal, to the canopy wanting to dive to the left at a very steep angle of attack. Lines were checked and the steering lines were found to be ok, but a bit short (no slack in them at full flight, but not pulling on the tail). The rest of the lines seemed to be equal comparing left to right sides. Canopy was sent to a rigger to be checked (and have the brake lines replaced). Just thought I'd get some more information from other Sabre2 pilots out there. What kind of openings (and at what wing loading) are others out there experiencing? ltdiver ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

Just don't try this when you have turbulant winds, IMHO. I tried it one hot, very windy day, when my Spectre-135 was backing up, not driving forward, and the canopy collapsed when I was about 30 feet off the ground (coming in straight for landing). My reflexive reaction to the sudden loss of lift was a startle reflex and my arms flew back up and let the risers go! My canopy reinflated and I landed unhurt. My friends in the packing area all reported that they thought I was 'toast' when they saw the canopy collapse. I got 'you're the luckiest girl in the world' from one of the skygods. Just my .02, ltdiver ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

Found a chocolate that's real fun at Trader Joe's. "Belgian Milk Chocolate Frogs with Cruncy Pop Fizz"! Really, this is not a joke. It's like they took our favorite kids pop-rocks candy and put this really good chocolate over it and shaped it into frogs! Let it melt in your mouth and soon the pop-fizz begins! Wild! See: Trader Joes ltdiver ____________________________________________ LightDiverCam

Hey Dove! Yeah, that's our standard disclaimer. I guess he's never met a skydiving chick before!
