So I came to York to requal, managed 4 jumps in the weekend in between trying to remember how to pack etc. first jump after 10 years couldn't wait to get out of the plane and freefall did a level 5 aff first up and then the instructor grabbed me and flipped me unstable, second jump was a tracking dive with an instructor, then did a double sunrise on Sunday - so worth the 4am get up and then squeezed level 4,5,6 Brels into one jump to see how much I had forgotten and I passed but skills way rusty tho. Just want to say how great the people are up here you rock and thanks for the best weekend in ten years can't wait for 2 weeks time!!! I think I've got a bit too eager to get going again. I did weigh the same back then but your right and I appreciate the advice about starting back with a 210 or 220. I'd intended to do that and then downsize to use my own gear. But I might just bite the bullet on rig hire costs and work though the dz gear downsizing as I go before I look for a second hand rig again
-
Ah yeah I forgot about the extra not including just my weight plus all the other inexperience factors. That settles that then thanks for the advice guys

Nah feel free to laugh it has been a looooooong time. Just wasn't sure how much different a stiletto at that size would be to an exe. Thanks fr the heads up :-) "If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough."

Returning to the sport after 9 years and my last rig iirc was a Exe 150 main. I'm 77kg (169lb??) 5ft 10in and I have seen a second hand rig in my price range but its a stiletto 135 600 jumps and 140 reserve. I have checked the website and that canopy wouldn't be recommended for an intermediate jumper ( I only had 50 odd jumps when I stopped). What's people's opinions on the stiletto vs my experience. I'm woefully out of currency but was going to use the dz gear til I was back in the groove and before going to the stiletto. Am I biting off more than I can chew? I got a rig coming from the US brand new and its a 175 Triathlon with a smart reserve of the same size. Its in wings container and the main/container are black/silver and white. I just got a 150 in a J1 second hand here and whilst I'm happy to have two rigs I would be willing to help out and sell the new one. I'm still waiting on the canopies being finished. I'll take $2600 no offers and its all brand new. Wings comes with all the trimmings - stainless attachments, articulated harness, mini rings and boc with hackey. I'm 155lb's and 5'9" with a 38 inch chest (ish). If you think its a go'er pm me buddy and we can sort something out. Obviously doesnt have cypres for that price. Got a new rig at the weekend. I will post pics but not til i cleaned it up from piling in on my arse. Typical was only my second jump on it too . I got a javelin J1, in blue/green with EXE 150, and a decellerator reserve. Hmm think the landing may have been cos i downsized from a 170 too . Put pics up tomorrow off to clean and practice packing seeing as tho im at work and on night shift. Any special tricks for getting grass stains out of the risers?? Used to love winding my little sister up. When I wasnt doing that they were building a new barrat housing estate just down from where I lived. Needless to say after tear assing down ther on our BMX's (I had a blue raleigh burner with yellow mag wheels) we would turn the builidng site into our adventure playground. Dump trucks, JCB's, scaffolding, wood glue and windows was a good one. Plus those butterfly/figure 8 shaped things they put between the inner and outer wall used to fly really well so we'd throw those at each other and cause damage to ourselves "If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough."

Hmmm, interesting reaction to my phone call to Langar..... Now I only have 50 something jumps and need to apply for my B, But was just told I wouldnt be jumping the 170 I was for 20 odd jumps in Fl, and that it is quite likely to be so busy I wouldnt get on many lifts cos they would be full of more experienced people on big ways etc, so I'd have to wait. Maybe, perhaps me going there the weekend of a boogey isnt such a hot idea. Sounds like I should try again when they are a bit quieter.... nice aircarft tho
