2005 Go Fast! Games attendies.... Apparantly, I was on one of the tee-shirts from the '05 event... I couldn't find it on GF's website... Anyone have one, or better yet, willing to part with theirs? I used the water knot and tie it as a loop (just like 1" tubular for climbing), I make (made) two loops, one smaller than the other, both loops through the bridle & pilot chute and those are clipped with a locking crab to a supertape sling to whatever object we were jumping from. that dosn't make a bit of sense... I'll try to get a pic. -smd7

Every jumper I've ever talked to about breakcord recommends a surgeons knot... I'm curious as to why no one is using a water knot? Seems like a better choice, and it's the one I used, and continue to recommend. Criticism welcome.. -smd7

You know Space, Yeah, You are being too hard on me, I really don't need the prophetic rundown like we give all the newbies on this forum.. Why do I have a first class climbing harness? Basically, it was comfy. The leg straps don't fuck my legs up like a super-duper lightweight flash jobby. The 8 factors... none of your goddam business. I didn't hear word one from you when I was trying to get into base... I don't need to hear it from you while getting out. Long story short, my former employer fucked me pretty hard... I can't afford to hop outta them planes for a while, I've got a wing, and I'd like to fly it, if I can get a harness that'll work for a little while ( i.e. I don't need a caccoon, I don't need "uber-comfort"... I just need to be properly suspended) - then "yay for me". I get to paraglide for little more than gas dough. Lighten the fuck up. It's a very simple question/favor. If you can help, great. If you can't, save it Freud. this isn't that tough. -smd7

I got to make a base jump on 6/4/4 (june 4th, 2004). too bad it wasn't @ 6:44, I was working... Exit was about 15 seconds to midnight. -base644 -
Space, The loss of a friend was one of about 8 factors, it happened to coincide with the process of hanging up BASE. And, I said "cheap", not crappy... Money is a little tight, and if I can save a few bucks on a harness that someone has laying around (for instance, I've got a full body climbing harness... It's still in perfect condition, but I just prefer to use my Petzl Jump). -smd7

Since the loss of a friend, I've quit base jumping, but as some of you know/see - I still post once in a while in here.. I traded a birdman suit for a paraglider wing, and now I'm looking for a harness... A cheap harness, just to get the thing to kite, and maybe a short flight. If you've got an old one I can borrow/buy/rent, please let me know. Thanks for your help. -smd7

Sorry Editor, I understand your position. I wasn't trying to be a di*k, but none of the others were willing to put a price on their jumps, I just thought I'd get the ball rolling. I do like the BMW jump though, it'd make a cool two way.... Good luck, -smd7

Editor, Sorry for the posts from others who may not have your clarity of vision. Many jumpers have been "burned" by reporters/media, and many of the objects they jump have been "burned" as well. I on the other hand would be happy to jump on film, but just as you shall no doubt be paid for your video distribution, I too would require compensation. *Airfare MSP to SLC and Return to MSP *Rental car or appropriate transportation from SLC to your choice, either **** ****,** or ****,** (or both if you prefer)and then back to SLC. *Hotel *$570.00 Per day of jumping (Assume 3 jumps per day weather permitting) *$180.00 Per day (if no jumping/due to weather holds) *$100.00 additional for each and every jump which is not "belly to earth" - a list of "stunt" or "flips/twists" will be provided. *$0.80 per video sold (royalty). It would be an interesting poll... Should we pay for our own rescues? I'd gladly stop paying a portion of my taxes to take certain "matters" into my own hands. Home protection for instance... Height. Landing area. Wires. A.M. -vs- F.M. Hot or Not? The reason you've only recieved one responce, well, if you were a jumper, you'd already know... i.e., it's kind of a dumb question. A better question would be, "There's a tower near my house, I don't want to name cities but, it's about 300' high, there's no houses around it, but there is a fence with barbed wire and I saw a camera with no wires sticking out of it...., would you still jump it? If so, PM me, if you live near (insert vague city here) and let me know. I'm a photographer with no BASE jumps, but would love to buy you a beer, show you my portfolio, and see if you'd like a tag-a-long photographer to snap off some shots of your landing. If youd prefer no flash-bulbs popping off while you're trying to land, I'm more than capable of working a two-way radio and driving a car...
