WFFC, where do you leave your stuff while you jump?
jazzabelle83 replied to Hazarrd's topic in Events & Places to Jump
If I end up driving the golf cart for AZ this year I'll surely give you a ride. See ya there -
I went through both courses. Actually, I've done some of everything. My first jump was a tandem. My next 7 jumps were static line, where I did all of my PRCPs and then the guys decided they wanted me to go through the AFF course instead. This was nearly five years ago now and I know the rules and such have changed a bit since then, but I like AFF so much better. I always had someone in the air with me to tell me exactly what I was doing wrong or right. I also had video, but then again I had video from my first jump on until I had my license ( goes with being the dz's little girl) As far as the financial part of it goes, I don't know which way would be more expensive, it depends on the person. I had to repeat my level 3 a couple of times. I don't know if I had gone with the static line if I would have to repeat more of my jumps or not. I don't think it would hurt to have a couple of statics.

I started packing at a pretty young age and i made some one watch me for what seemed like forever, until one day they said they weren't going to. That was a nervous pack job, but after it was jumped and opened, i gained a lot of confidence in knowing I did it on my own. And I know how frustrating it can be getting in the bag at first, believe me it gets easier. My advice is to watch other people pack. You might pick up a few methods that will work better for you. For example it 's a lot easier if you start with the D lines and work you're way up ( pro-pack) the lines are already set out for you that way. Just a helpful hint that helped me.

So, what are YOU looking forward to most about Rantoul this year??

I can't wait to see everyone having a blast! See ya'll on the golf cart!! jessi -
When I first started packing I learned from one person, but then I started watching other people from my dz pack and picked up some things they were doing that seemed to make things a lot easier. I found it faster and easier by starting with the D line group and moving up to the A line group in the canopy. When you do it this way you are pulling the next line group out so you can see them right away. Finding all the lines for each group seems to trip up newbies some times. There are some other little things that will help too and I'm sure any packer would be glad to give you tips if you ask.

Skydiving is like anything else in life. You're always going to have the occasionally disagreements and what-not, but when it comes down to it were all practically family. I know I see my skydiving friends more than anyone else! -drop zone brat
