Was looking through old threads and realized you and your husband own Raeford Parachute center.....what is your DZ like??? Planes, weather, landing area etc. I have a few friends working somewhere in your area and i have passed through there myself. Maybe we could come share the air with you dudes sometime. Philip

Hey, Lots of good info @ Basic Research & Consolidated Rigging We have a few experienced BASE jumpers and yes i have a mentor. I just need to spend more time picking their brains. ( i spend 6 months a year offshore so i'm trying to learn from the keyboard too. In my neighborhood its either A's or B's (so i will stick to the A's till i get more experience). Philip P.S. Thanks for the help "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?"

I'm in the Gulf of Mexico. You would be suprised how many "MISSISSIPPI DUDES" work offshore. Friede Goldmann Offshore ( i think the name has changed though) located in Pascagoula MS. used to repair and build new oilrigs ( i have seen as many as 10 oilrigs being built or repaired in Pascagoula). And you thought we were just a bunch of hill-billys lol. Be cool Philip "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?"

I was at our Mardi Gras Boogie and noticed a little CRW going on above and when the canopys landed, it was 2 dudes and both were jumping a stiletto. Is this considered Norm, or safe? Just curious. Philip

Have you ever gone low unintentionally?
stilettodude replied to jerry81's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The first time was as a student and i dumped around 2000' ( which is low for a student). Another time was around jump#200, i totally lost awareness and was in the saddle around 800' or 900'. We are not discussing the intentional one's Right -
The same thing happened to me Mike. I mis-routed my chest strap and when it slipped out my main lift web (on both sides) slipped halfway down my shoulders. I tried to buckle it in freefall ( which didn't work at all) so around 2500 i grabbed both sides with one hand and dumped with the other. It turned out good but i wouldn't want to do it again lol. Needless to say..... i will not make that same mistake! Philip "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?"

The requirements said at least 500 jumps on a Ram-Air type canopy. Was it previously 200 or 250??? Philip "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?"

I don't want to sound dumb but i have so many questions concerning B.A.S.E. that i would like answered. I have only a few jumps ( all from the same object, w/ borrowed gear) and would like to continue in the sport, but there is so much i want to know. Would the gear i need be decided by what type, or height of objects i would be jumping? Should i keep jumping the A's before i try the B's? Where can i get info on fall rates from fixed objects? There are so any more questions but i don't want to bore you. Maybe you know somewhere i can go to get good info on the sport, all info will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Which part of the dive do you enjoy more?
stilettodude replied to SkydiveMonkey's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I like them both. On no-winder days i like to dedicate my time to "SWOOPING" but sometimes its fun to get a big-way speedstar together and see just how fast you can get there! Philip "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?" -
Psycho-Packing should rally be called "Psycho Bagging" The only difference between a normal Pro-Pack and Psycho-Pack is how its put into the bag. P.D. has a little info on this. www.performancedesigns.com Philip "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?"

All 3 ( Taylor, Skylar & Jody) are doing fine. Skylar (3.5)(my heart) wants to grab hold of me and pretend we are skydiving, every time she sees me! Taylor (9) thinks she is 18. and Jody ( TERRIBLE 2's) that says it all! Gotta Go Philip "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?"
