When shooting the stereoscopic footage, did you turn off image stabilization in the cameras? The video is rather strenuous on the eyes and I believe the main reason is the vertical parallax. If the image stabilization in the two cameras isn't synchronized the vertical parallax will not be zero at all times. I've attached a couple of images to show what I mean with vertical parallax. I would also try to turn both cameras slightly inwards to put everything at or behind the stereo window. Cool footage though

I tried changing from TAS to SAS mode on the protrack and it then shows an average of 60mph(avg1: 54mph, avg2: 67mph). Do you know which mode is most accurate? >e

Anybody else jumping this suit? I have about 10-15 jumps on my suit and I'm trying to figure out what kind of performance I should be aiming for when it comes to vertical speed. On my last few jumps my average vertical speed has been 62-63 mph according to my pro-track. How much slower should I be able to go? >erlend

Just out of couriousity, do you know what PD charges for a Vectran lineset? And what is the cost of a HMA line set? I'm not planning on making the line set myself so if I were to change to HMA I would have to receive the lines in the correct lengths. Connecting the finished lines should be an easy task though, since there are no cascades. I assume the Alpha doesn't originally come with HMA? Did you get the specs for continous HMA from Atair and then made them yourself? Did the characteristics of the canopy change?
-
Has it been done? If so, was it successful? I'm wondering because it's rather expensive to buy and install a vectran lineset here in Norway(i've heard it will cost somewhere between 450 and 500$). With non-cascaded HMA at least i would be able to install the lines myself. I've heard PD only charges 125$ to reline a canopy, does anyone know what Icarus charges? Thanks in advance

The bag says MXS. I tried to put a Stiletto-120 in the bag and it fit easily. Getting the stuffed bag in the container wasn't quite as easy. I changed the pilotchute because the original one(28' f-111)was so large it took about 20lbs to pull it straight out of the BOC. I suppose the 28' pulls with more force(at least when it's brand new), but I thought all pc's had enough drag to pull the pin and extract the bag on any regular rig? I'm closing the rig like the manual says. I wonder if this can be a problem with small rigs in particular. A friend of mine has a small Wings and he has had the same problem. I borrowed his rig for a jump and had to reach back and pull on the bridle itself because the pc was just hanging there like a drogue :(

I have a Mirage G4 MXS and the d-bag seems to be way to large(it's definetely quite a bit bigger than the container). I actually compared it to a G4 MT d-bag and they were the same size. The rig was ordered for my current canopy(crossfire2-89), however it says that the rig is supposed to hold a regular 9-cell 107-120. I thought MXS was the smallest Mirage rig? Btw what's the normal force required to pull the bag out of the container(on my rig it required a pull of almost 30lbs)? I've been having pilot chute hesitations on probably 75% of my jumps(only have 25 jumps on the rig yet) and I'm using a 24" zp pilot chute.

Parafoil Design for FS-2004 flight sim fans

I tried to increase the pilotweight to 800# and now it's really swoopin It still turns rather slowly until you get it into a dive, but when you get it into a dive it dives a LOT. I'd say the recovery arc is about 1500f at least. Also it should be possible to flare more smoothly, with the additional weight it pops right back up when you apply the flaps. Tried to make the canopy more elliptical, but it didn't like that at all >erlend -

NICE! Would it be difficult to change the flightmodel into something a little more radical like a VX or Velocity? >erlend -
As soon as I feel the snatch I look up to watch the deployment. I also look forward a couple of times during the snivelperiod to make sure nobody is in front of me. And I keep my hands close to the rear-risers to be able to avoid possible obstacles. I suppose this increases the chance of dissymetry and off-heading openings, but with my current canopy and WL I have not had any problems. >erlend

A large canopy needs a large pc to stretch the lines in the same amount of time(0.4 - 0.8 seconds according to mr Booth) it takes to stretch the lines of a small canopy with a small pc, or? All pc's are capable of pulling the pin on any rig, regardless of brand? If this is true, shouldn't the pc follow the main canopy? >erlend :)

Sounds like an exciting canopyride :) Malvik is a small place not far from Trondheim. I would guess there are about a 150 people who has Malvik as their last name in this area. Thanks for the advice :) >erlend

It's a small canopy and I'm a small guy. The question is whether my wingload of 1.6 is too much, but I feel comfortable with it. I'm very careful when pulling the slider past the toggles, believe me. A friend of mine nearly killed himself yesterday when one toggle got unstowed and the other got stuck in the slider(he also has a brand new G4). Hopefully it will get easier when I get some more jumps on it :) >erlend

I'm having trouble pulling the slider down behind my neck. Getting the risergrommets past the toggles is almost impossible because it's so tight. Anyone else who has encountered this problem? I'm using vectran-lines. I also have a pilotchute that is quite big(28 inches, f-111). Even when packed as neat as possible it barely fits in the BOC. I've measured the force required to pull it out and it was about 9kg(~20lbs), which I find rather heavy. Would it be a problem to use a smaller zero p pilot? Skydive :) >erlend
