    Surviving BASE

If a guy told me that this is the jump that will get me killed I would smile and ask "how do you know that?" ... and then … put some money where your mouth is, I bet you a million dollar that I will survive. Two reasons, it will make me rich and I am a basejumper … nobody really tells me what to do ;) PerFlare Team Bautasten

  7. Me to a yahoo at i exitpoint (actually heard a version of it in Norway years ago): He: Well, have a good one! Me: Well, I hope you get a lineover and die! He: What?! Me: I mean how likely is it that two guy’s will have a lineover and die at the same jump? So are you going or not? I did apologize afterwards, but the facial expression was priceless … PerFlare
  8. dudes ;) I am not famous, so maybe this means litte ... I have the privilege to jump with most of you in this thread, as a foreigner I will not go in to the politics. I like to say one thing, for me personally and have nothing to do with my team. For me, Tom is my brother. He showed his true character when he called me up in Europe long (for us still alive) time ago. I do not say everybody else is wrong, I just say Tom is my brother, I stand with him. I do not care if the politics do not suit everybody. Oh, I am European,we do not use underwear ;) so I have not my in a bunch ;) PerFlare

Me: Yes, no worries ... we are Scandinavians *smile* Thanks again for the jump Miles, we just thought that question was a little bit funny. It is good to make sure with people you do not know, I agree. PerFlare Swedish BASE Team

    Dianese Armor

Hi, I use the motorcycle Dainese armour, the same as Tom A. I have a crash rig as well with measurements taken with the battle gear on, I am 140 pounds and the canopy in that rig is a 293sqft … but then again, I am pretty old, pretty scared and pretty fragile kind of guy. PerFlare
  20. Hello! It says Beer ... not only Beer ... The King of Beers ... quite a statement. I do hope it will be a very long time before I have one again but managed to go thru many of those litte suckers in three weeks! Stay alive! PerFlare
  21. Hey Dex! Three members of the Swedish BASE Team will be there, well we are in Canon City right now at Canon Cafe! See you guys soon! Heading over there right now! PerFlare
  22. I and two members of the Swedish BASE Team (Mikael Nordqvist and Martin Rosen) are flying in to San Francisco this Saturday (24th of September). We will arrive at 17:30PM and will rent a car and hit Lodi late Saturday night (I see you guys at the bar, I do not have long hair anymore but I am still short and pretty far from good looking) We are going to stay a few days around SF, Sacramento, Lodi area and looking for locals that can share some knowledge about what’s hot and not. After a few days we will go north east and looking for locals on the way up towards Twin Falls. We know about some possibilities but a local to talk to would be very much appreciated. In Twin Falls we will be set but hoping to meet up with some old friends and making new ones. We will be traveling for three weeks and will hit Moab, Go Fast Games, and keep doing a clockwise ellipse and will hopefully end up in SF again. We are looking for what most guys like us are looking for and would be super happy, that is as happy as a child at Christmas, to hear from locals that can show us the ropes, give us tips or at best share some exits/objects with us. Hope to hear from you! My mail is “base576 (at) hotmail (dot) com” and my cell phone are +46 706 079 210. Do not login here much so PM's is not the way to go. PerFlare
  23. Thanks to all involved ... that is truly one of the funniest exits I have ever seen! I would love a big screen and slow motion, glad you guys are relative okay and I am sorry over the lost footage but then again, that is some fantastic footage. Again, one of the more aggressive exits I have seen. Thanks! PerFlare
  24. Hello Tom, Hope you are well. I agree with what you are saying, there are some people that have more/higher level of control then others. In my opinion nobody have complete control, because there are no such thing … that is an illusion … > I believe that that is what you do, you put your life at risk on every single jump. There are jumps with less risk then others but you are at risk at every single jump … even that bridge that the Americans love so dearly. My answer to your question, I do not believe it has to do with sanity/insanity for most people … I think it has to do with a more powerful mental state … Denial Okay, I will decide. I think it could be useful. But then again, what do I know … Have the best of times! PerFlare
  25. Hello, I guess I am a experienced jumper so I chip in ... > -- I disagree with this statement. -- My opinion, there is always a risk (risk for injury or death) when you jump. I see allot of jumpers that trust theirs skills, abilities and gear to the extent that they actually think they are in complete control I think control is a illusion … As I see it, I will do anything (except for the safest option, not jump) to make my jumps as safe as possible, that gives me a better chance to get away with it. If you ask me on the edge “Flare are you 100% sure that you will survive this?” The answer would be “No … let’s hope for the best” It is a game, a numbers game … my opinion … it is up to each individual to decide how many times they want to roll the dice and see if they can getaway with it, but it is only a matter of time. The house always wins … I see you guys at the table, I am sitting down with the brothers and sisters that is already there … PerFlare
