Oh dear God look at these choices. And not a social program among them. I don't want to send dumbfucks and fucktards into apoplexy stating the obvious about their beloved social programs right before the holidays, so let me think on these for a bit. My first inkling would be The War on Drugs with DHS being a close second, but TARP's magnitude is so great that it's hard to ignore. War on Drugs is goat fuck stupid - just like prohibition and supporters of the card check abomination that will come up during the next four years. The DEA's budget and the portion of the total DOJ annual budget combined over the last three decades adjusted by CPI for total $ in FY09 values would probably approach TARP I do believe. When you would take into account the ancillary costs - state, local, prison, food, CERS/FERS, medical, DoD etc - associated with the war on drugs and its prosecution, I think it would dwarf the TARP in magnitude and have a close to zero ROI for the taxpayer. Take into account lost tax revenue from taxation of drugs, and you've got an even greater loss. PB09 had $50 Billion requested total budget authority for DHS. Add in long term costs for employees and the like, and over time that will be a HUGE budget drain. A mere decade will have it over TARP in magnitude. ROI on that is arguable. Those three I think are the greatest with the least ROI for the taxpayer. As much as I detest social programs, I do see a need for some of them. It's the cowardly refusal of the left to modify those programs that infuriates me - they are OBVIOUSLY insolvent and will destroy the budget shortly...if one still exists. The accounting challenge to accurately model which one costs the most over a given time frame in conjunction with the subjectiveness for ROI for the taxpayer makes differentiating between any of these accurately a challenge and any opinions a gut feel at best. That's my gut feel. My US$0.02. TARP, DHS, and War on Drugs. Sheesh. Now the fucking auto-bailout. What next? Airline? Utility? Plumbing shop? I think it's more than their third year if you nix some creative accounting. Also, if you take out the non-auto related industries they've bought and sold at a profit over the past decade or so, the #s would get far, far worse. Toyota is far more robust. They're taking about $1 billion in losses for the year. Many multiples of that required to even keep two of the big three afloat. And I doubt Ford is turning a profit, though I haven't looked. They did have a choice - allow the companies to go bankrupt and capitalism to take its course. The Canadian taxpayer just got screwed. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

I hope everyone boycotts those bastards. I travel quite a bit and am going to try and not even rent their products if at all possible. I like my Honda and plan on keeping it for about 10+ years like my last car. Won't purchase another car for a long time, but when I do, it will NOT be from GM or Chrysler. I'd sell one if it were given to me and make the buyer pick it up so I wouldn't have to drive it. That's $$ we'll NEVER see again and got nothing for in return. Holy FUCK is that stupid. [barf] Not just the US taxpayer, but our fellow North Americans as well. Dear Lord. I mean that is absolutely disgusting. The WRONG thing for the industry, the economy, and the world. I will not purchase a GM or Chrysler product and endeavor not to rent them either. What the hell is up with all of this fucktardedness? I mean holy fucking SHIT! Throwing good money after bad is STUPID. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

If the dumbfucks who wrote this site were as critical of CNN and the MSM for their liberal bias, I'd be impressed. These guys were fucktards before the election. They're fucktards now. Yaaaaaawn. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! -
Keep trying all you like, but I doubt you'll get it through to John. He loves those unions, you see, and has long since forgotten that corporations exist not to provide jobs but to produce a profit. Saying anything bad about unions is a strict no-no for leftists, because of the massive amounts of funding unions provide them - in many cases against the wishes of union rank & file. And you had no problem with the ATC'ers violating their no-strike oath, eh? Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Yep! Management suuuuure is responsible for managing the workforce and the company. And unions are responsible for driving up labor costs to the point where the company is harmed. They make it difficult - in some cases impossible, as with Eastern and the Detroit 3 - to manage a workforce effectively which in turn reduces the ability of a company to compete well in a competitive market. Fact. Deal with it however you so desire. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
-
Another dodge! You must REALLY like those unions to avoid facts as you are. When WILL you face reality? Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
-
Oh, I agree that bad management decisions were made - labor negotiations among them. Some situations are not fixable, however. When you have a multi-billion dollar recurring liability that your competitor does not have (job bank) then you simply cannot compete effectively. When you cannot hope to achieve a profit margin on par with your competitors because your costs of labor are too exorbitant with no realistic recourse to correct that imbalance, then you cannot hope to be competitive over the long haul. Not facing the fact that unions did not have a negative impact on the management of these corporations is not facing reality. I know perfectly well the corporation's management signed that contract. Had they not, the union would have gone on strike and hurt the shareholders and the company. You really should explore cause and effects. You didn't do as I asked...I wonder why...I really do wonder...perhaps it's because the concept of greater than, less than really doesn't elude you and you don't want to face facts, perhaps? You've yet to enlighten us as to how corporations with labor costs in excess of their competitors can hope to be competitive. I wonder why? Don't want to face the fact that your beloved unions hurt corporations, perhaps? The bill is dead! Whoohoooo! May it remain that way forever. MORE wealth envy, eh John? You like that, huh? Do a simple greater than ,less than thing and perhaps that will help you see something about your precious unions. By your own admission, CEO's make too much money - though why you know better than the board of directors is between you and them. Take the salaries of all three Detroit automakers' CEO's per annum. Sum them. Then see if that's greater than the $$ poured into UAW job banks. Then, get back to us. It is managements job to manage its workforce. And when its contracts with unions preclude it from doing that, the company goes under. Under because of what? Its union! So easy...and yet you still don't get it. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
-
So the truth is lame, eh? I think you just don't want to face it. It is pretty fucking lame when unions harm the hand that feeds them. Pretty fucking pathetic. Maybe you could take your pro-union vies to a meeting of former shareholders of Eastern Airlines, whose unions forced it into bankruptcy. At least two of the big three will be joining Eastern in bankruptcy, though they'll hopefully pull out of it, unlike Eastern. Interesting. Makes you wonder what's coming down the pike if this is indeed for real. -
This is true. It's why their own base is enraged with them. If the alternative weren't far worse most of them would be voted out in a landslide. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

And when management is precluded from managing its workforce by unions, then unions are detrimental to the company. Ahhhh...such an easy line of reasoning. Amazing you don't get it...or see what unions have done to the Detroit 3. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

I SO hope you're right! Some of the news early this AM indicates it's in for a fight in the Senate. I hope some Representatives are shaking in their BOOTS over this in two years. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

US$0.01 is a waste for the taxpayer in an already obscene deficit environment. At least it was less. Now I hope the Senate kills this abomination. What the HELL was the House thinking? This perhaps? [barf] Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

I just saw on Fox. It did indeed pass. I hope everyone that voted in favor of this abomination is voted OUT of office in the next election. May the Senate send this bill straight to the abyss. [barf] Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Heard it's up for a vote...hadn't heard it passed. And I hope it didn't. If it did, you're not welcome and I hope the Senate does its job and kills the damned thing! [barf] Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
