The PIMSLEUR Courses are both expensive and OUTSTANDING. Languages are my hobby and I can't name a better way of learning a language. Having had four years of HS Spanish you might want to start with their LEVEL II (buy it used off of Amazon). It IS the best out there. I used it to learn some Portuguese before I went down to Rio for Carnaval. When I got there, the only problem I had was people speaking to me extremely rapidly initially because they said I sounded native. PM me if you'd like for me to send you a tape or two of Level II (I have it, but am not finished yet

Oh yes DYEVOUT! Ingenious! Between all of us in the DZ.com community, we shall put together the perfect punishment for these evil bastards! Dr. Evil would be proud....hahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa! tequilla shooters for all my friends! Vinny Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

I advise you to drink with reckless abandon after a full day of jumping. Don't limit yourself to just beer either. Expand off into the realm of tequilla shooters and liquor for this special occasion. As the jumper of honor, make sure you get to eat the worm. If frolicking with naked sexy women can be worked into the festivities, that is always a definite plus. My two cents. Congrats! I was hoping their stomachs would be roasted continuosly for all eternity....ideally they would be disembowelled meticulously and kept alive while their entrails roast. DAMN THEM! DAMN ALL SPAMMERS STRAIGHT TO HELL! We should sponsor a fake 'spammer convention' then round them up and send them all to be human shields somewhere dangerous to speed them on their way to hell.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of every spammer who has ever lived. May they all rot in hell being forced to eat their own feces! Sometimes I have trouble communicating my true feelings. Beers to all, Vinny Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

My favorite animal is the RHINO closely followed by the tiger. Rhinos kickass. They are short and stubby and stout as hell - kind of like me, hence my affinity for them. Tigers are just plain cool. The dreaded snarling platypus is third. Cheseburgers, Vinny Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Ahhh....so many weaknesses....so little time.....let's say the top few.... - free beer of almost any sort - Girl Scout Cookies - ESPECIALLY the thin mints - beautiful women........especially ones that skydive I could go on, but think those are the top three. The list wouldn't be complete without Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, however...... Beers to all, Vinny Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Five foot three and a HALF, about 190 pounds, about 10-13% body fat or so here. That's why I'm THE ANVIL. Vertically challenged fellows like my are sometimes a bit more adventurous, but I don't think I've met many short guys skydiving. Short women - yes. Men, no. I wish more short women WOULD skydive. Many more! Interesting concept of psychology, though. Off the top of my head, there were a lot of short folk climbing Kilimanjaro when I was dong so. Also white-water rafting on the Zambezi and rapelling. Mainly taller folk skiing in my experience. Might be an interesting topic for a research paper. Perhaps short people like to skydive because we can't run fast. But then again, we can swim like fish. This does call for further thought/study..... I find your conclusion flawed. Name one 'human right' that the Gitmo prisoners do not have. Are they free? Absolutely not. Their legal status is a can of worms - perhaps you can fault the US there. But to say the US is in violations of human rights is so wrong it's disgusting. Kind of like having Sudan on a human rights commission. Idiotic. Fact: They have the best health care they have ever received. Better by severl orders of magnitude than their countrymen back home. Fact: They have three meals a day. Better than most of their countrymen back in Afghanistan. Fact: They are in a milder climate than their countrymen back home. Fact: While they are locked up, they won't be terrorizing others. Compare and contrast the Gitmo containment facility with ANY prison in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Lebanon, Egypt, or any other nation and you'll find it quite amenable. If you were able to find one other nation whose prison facility is soooooo much better, you might have an argument (emphasis on the might). You can't. Period. Bill, you're missing it dude. I challenge you to give me ONE example of any government entity punishing someone for exercising their right to free speech. One person fined, imprisoned, or otherwise punished for exercising their freedom of the press. It's not the government nor is it corporations 'punishing' these nit-wits. It's the American public exercising THEIR freedom to NOT WATCH, LISTEN TO, or in ANY way support those whose beliefs they find repulsive. Kind of like Vietnam vets refusing to let their kids watch that Fonda moron. Corporations make their money off of the public. Corporations exist to make money. Therefore they CARE about what the public feels, and hire spokesmen/spokeswomen accordingly. That's capitalism at work dude. Not repression. hops, malt, and sugar, Vinny

OK Jraf. Time to come back to reality dude. I wasn't referring to you cowering behind the FOS mantra - I was referring to the Dixie Twits, Eddie Vedder, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, et al. Not sure how you thought I was referring to you from the context of my post, but I was not doing so. I don't read a lot of your stuff being here only for a short time, but from what I've read I can't accurately say you're a Nazi. A bit deranged, perhaps. Saying 'shut up and sing' isn't indicative of one holding to Marxist/Leninist tenets, nor those of the goose-steppers in the Nazi party. Stating that such a remark is against FOS is an untenable position as well. Furthermore, your remark about a 'fine line' separating the far left & far right has about as much factual basis as Clinton giving and abstinence seminar. They are about as close as we are to Pluto. Same solar system - different orbits. Nazi's and Commies hold beliefs more akin to the left - socialized medicine, state run economy, price controls, etc - than they do with conservatives, who seem to be doing the most Hollywonk booing and bashing. I stand by my previous posting. beers to all, Vinny the Anvil Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

I forgot about that! You're right - even morons can do some good sometime. Moron might not be the correct term. Misguided soul with a proclivity for undertaking legal actions for causes/persons with no rationale might be a better adjective phrase for him....I dunno. Thanks Mark! I HAD forgotten about the Branch Davidians. fruit rollups, Vinny

Michael, you've hit upon a good point. It always amazes me that many leftists cower under the 'I was exercising my freedom of speech' mantra whenever someone else exercises their own freedom of speech to criticize them. It seems these loud mouths on the left are so arrogant and self righteous that they can't fathom that the other person has a problem with their actions/statements/opinions. They therefore incorrectly conclude that the person has a problem with Freedom of Speech. egg rolls, Vinny

I just learned something about the term concentration camp. Seems you are right, though the current understanding of most with regards to its use in the vernacular probably stems from the German/Cambodian models, I'd wager. That's where I was coming from. Yep, you're right though. Per the encycolopedic definition it is a concentration camp. Can of worms - yep. I don't think these people have a right to trial under the US judicial system as they aren't US citizens and committed no crimes on US soil. However, I also don't think they should ever be let loose, though I see no legal justification for doing such a think. An interesting conundrum. I don't know much about international law other than easy stuff like the difference betwn innocent and transit passage of an archipelagic strait, demarcation lines, mining of trade routes, and the like. T'will be interesting to see how this plays out. One thing is for sure -Ramsay Clarke will make an idiot of himself again, guaranteed. Suds, Vinny

Do another tequilla shooter, dude!

Most of that supplement stuff is a bunch of crap. If you're trying to bodybuild, some of it is useful. There's a product called Xenadrine that has produced some undeniable results for a lot of people. But if it seems to be too good to be true, then it probably is. No company worth anything would make such ludicrous claims. Beers to all, Vinny the Anvil Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Nope dude. Gitmo is NOT against the Geneva Convention. Under no circumstances did any of the prisoners meet the requirements of Article 4. And comparing Guantanamo's detention facility to a concentration camp is utterly ludicrous. I've seen concentration camps - Dachau, Auschwitz, et al and Gitmo has no resemblance. There are no furnaces or working parties, medical care is rendered, there are no murders of prisoners, and open prayer is allowed. Beers to all, Vinny the Anvil

Europa, eh? Good question. We DO know what happened with one of the Martian probe failures - ye olde English to metric conversion problems. Back to Europa, I don't think that's going to happen for a while, though I do think it would be worthwhile/interesting. Jovian dynamics are pretty damned interesting in many respects. Big assed B field. All sorts of moons. But the next deep space mission will probably be to the Kuiper belts WAY the hell out there. I think we're going back to Mars with another rover mission in '09 too. Have to check NASAs webpage - haven't been there for a while. I might check into some Europan trajectories today if I get some spare geek time. You've piqued my interest. Gotta scoot. Vinny the Anvil

I'd agree with you in some aspects. I too am amazed that we seem content as a nation to just stay ISS/Earthbound. However, I disagree that it's not a lot harder to get there. Have you looked at the Isp req'd? It's enormous. Power problems, Mars weather, human physiology, and a myriad of other concerns come to mind instantly. Now I DO think that if we set a national goal - as we did with regards to landing on the Moon - to get to Mars, it would be a good thing in many respects. The technology boost alone would be worth the effort. However, as an independent conservative/quasi-Libertarian the 'who the hell is going to pay for this?' question immediately springs to mind. Anytime you go from unmanned to manned the QA costs for a launch go up by several orders of magnitude. Blah blah blah. I digress....I'd like to see us go to Mars...I'd like to be the first man on mars....the first extra-terrestrial skydiver....first Martian BASE jumper....first person to drink beer on Mars.....first to brew beer on Mars.....etc. beers to all, Vinny the Anvil Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
