Same in Poland. Every parachute (main and reserve) here is an "aircraft", and is included in the same registry as the Boeing 767 from Polish airlines! The rig must be taken to Warsaw, checked, go (with the owner) thru 10 steps, paperwork, beaurocracy, offices, signatures, stamps... It gets its logbook, registration, and so on Is exactly why i started the post i just want to question a little bit the old systems
-
Well I started skydiving in Romania, now I jump in Spain Actually I put this Q as I am discussing now with the guys from Romanian authority And I am trying to make them convince me that this system actually helps me and what is the motivation for this registration (For the moment they answered me because that is the law- should I laugh or cry? ) My points: - How can the government decide that my rig is jumpable or not? I mean the manufacturer already has the rig approved by the international authorities - Why should a government guy jump and paint my rig with a stupid number? - Personally I agree that the rig should be inspected, but inspected at the DZ by the rigger or by the safety responsible ........ is just my fight with an old system that should be changed
-
Maybe for some people this subject might be totally alien I posted this as I am really curious in what other countries this "rule" is still applying, and what are the pros and cons According to my information, a registration process is required for EVERY rig in order to be able to fly it in a specific country (Romania, Bulgaria, Germany .....I am sure the list goes on) They call this "paper" a navigability authorization. The authority actually puts the rig in the same process as a car registration e.g.: some “authorized” fat a** government representative has to inspect the rig, jump it, and put a serial number on it, and after all this (hyper long process) they give u the paper (and of course u have to pay for it) Personally I have no pro argument over this process But I am waiting for other opinions

If a packer packs a sport and it has a malfunction? what are the "consequences" ? I mean for a linetwist on a high performance...ok...u get away but what if the packer f#&@s up completely a canopy from a packing error? a lineover that just destroyed a new VX for example what are the scenarios, the rules, or the customs? from my knowledge at some DZ's the packer pays the reserve repack

Funniest moments in skydiving
melushell replied to livendive's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
the funniest moment.......... my first jump when I finally realized why my parents gave me the name that I have My family name can be translated more or less to Lamb pretty funky name, during my childhood I tried to figure out why my family has that name..........the explanation came in '99 at my first jump The thingy is we started out using round canopies , and I was doing static line .....so I jump -lucky bastard I have a linetwist ,my hand went right away to the cutaway but I realized I can fix it.... Flying was awesome , the round canopy is really silent not much steerable tough I realized when I was 100 m maybe, that I might have the chance of landing in a sheep open stable there I went, straight in the middle of it , lucky me it was an empty one, so the sheep were not home, or the dogs 10 m away , outside the fence, my instructor was laughing his shit out of him " good that one of those poles didn't got into your ass, wanna go to the second load ?" " hell yeah " Imagine the reaction of other 40 people on the DZ watching the instructor with his small initiated "sheep" ! -

I just wanna hear the best Computer jokes u heard , or situations that make u think sometimes u are a computer genius/idiot. there is one of mine A guy calls me "dude I keep having an error on my PC, it says "Press any key to continue", and I look 10 times on the keyboard and the PC manual but I cannot find the damn "any key" button ! P.S. (for the skydive addicts) in this case, PC= Personal Computer NOT Pilot Chute
-
Thanks JP are u a tunnel rat ? if yes, can you please give us your story of becoming one? ------------------------------------------------ A guy calls me "dude I keep having an error on my PC, it says "Press any key to continue", and i look 10 times on the keyboard and the PC manual but I cannot find the damn "any key" button ! P.S. (for the skydive addicts) in this case, PC= Personal Computer NOT Pilot Chute
-
I was courious what are the requirements to become a tunnel coach? (if any )
-
Why the reserve front risers are a different material and thickness than the backrisers ?
-
The temp pin is larger than the base of the PC. actually in this case is equal but anyway , the place were the bent is was exactly in the middle of the pilot chute as the bent looks we are thinking the only oxplanation is becasue of the pulling force but again...............are those pins so darn soft???????
-
is exactly what i try to explain when this happened we were closing the pilot chute we were presing on the metal plate of the pilot chute, how can a plate bigger than the pin ,bends it like this ? when the tension force of the plate forces pin not to bend? (or puts the force equal to all the suface of the pin )
-
I am not saying is because of Mirage ( we were trying to explain because they have the strongest pilot chute spring, and we tought it was becasue we pushed harder than a regular spring)
