How often do you pack yourself?
wiregoat replied to Antidote's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am a slow packer, so it is about 50%. Interesting fact. I jumped a Spectre 230, just started jumping my Spectre 210. If a packer packs it, it opens a bit harder than I like. If I pack it, it snivells for at least a 1000 feet. but, but, he's a giant chicken! -
I don't believe anyone at my DZ has been affended by my faith. However, when they can not see who I am listening too when He is speaking kinda whiggs them out. but, but, he's a giant chicken!

/I am thinking that this is a bad attempt at humor and if that is the case then but..........if that is not the case then here's what you do, sell all of your gear, cancel your uspa membership, go and buy a teddy bear, and of course a ba-ba for your milk, and piss off! OR.............................you can accept that skydiver's are a family and while some of us are drunks, smokers, or whatever we all still share the love of hurling our bodies at earth until we are soar, have a smoke, light a fire, get drunk, and yes get up for the first load........why?........to get rid of our hangover of coarse! OH.............and you owe beer. I am pretty sure you just met the most important requirement. but, but, he's a giant chicken!

I doubt this is of any help, but, do you jump the same type canopy each jump? I can land exacty where I want with a triathlon 220, but, I slide in my landings. With the 260, however, I stand them up beautifully, but, I never land within 150 yards of where I want to. I need to learn what the winds do to my pattern. but, but, he's a giant chicken!

AFF help! - stopping a(n unwanted) turn?
wiregoat replied to Fireflyer's topic in Safety and Training
Dude, I feel for you. The last few jumps I have made have alternated between spinning and potato chipping or just spinning. One video shows that I clearly have the arch of a sheet of plywood. I have been told to relax, relax, RELAX!. I believe I am sufficiently relaxed. I am working on stretching so that a good arch is easier to do. The kicker is at deploy time I can stop all unstableness just long enough to deploy safely. Practice will make perfect but, but, he's a giant chicken! -
Christian Ministry to Skydivers
wiregoat replied to StevePhelps's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Here in the midwest, I think it would be worth a try. My dropzone accepts all kinds of folks as long as they are SAFE. I am sure it depends on the DZ. Possibly the Dz's that it would do the most good would be the ones where it would cause the most problems. I can't help but think christain skydivers would be more effective than skydive ministries, but, any excuse to go to the dropzone is a good one. but, but, he's a giant chicken! -
While slipping from a strut of a Cesna at 10,000' going 100 mph, it is impossible to stress over your stupid stressful job, the war, or what your wingnut family is up to. If, by some chance, you can, you sure are not going to be able to while tumbling out of control on a 120 mph collision course with the ground. but, but, he's a giant chicken!
