been sitting around since class got out 3 hours ago. Not much happening on this end. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

just do it, the second you leave the plane I bet money everything will fall into place and you'll do fine. The next solo will be a lot easier. You just have to get over the "hump". It takes a few jumps. Don't sweat it, you're having fun right? Thats the point. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

yeah seriously any dude willing/able to do that many jumps in one day would have my support. Hell it'd be a rush just to be a part of something like that! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

hey tom, I figured this out a few weeks ago, and PMed mischo about this a few hours ago. You must go to your settings in your profile somewhere there will be an options menu. Change the options menu to display posts older than 30 days (or something to that effect). I think it somehow defaults to only display month old posts. I did this and have since read through all the posts in technical archive from 1999 til now. *edit - OK I went back and find what you have to do to activate it. Click on "guest options" near where the search function is. Then from the drop bar "list active topics from last" click "all available topics". This will show topics no matter if they have been active in the past day or havnt had a post to them for 4+ years. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

two things that helped my exits: 1) try to see if you can hang out the door on rear float and get yourself out into the airstream, then exit. It helps prepare yourself for the jump from inside the plane to outside. It helped me. 2) someone told me this when I was having trouble with my hop/pops after AFF. Imagine you're riding a motorcycle for the first few seconds after exiting (hands up in an arch though obviously ). The air will be coming at your chest and your feet will be pointed toward the ground. Feel yourself slide off the hill, it's fun! (not to mention asking your instructors/coaches!) --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

thanks mike, unfortunately a trip like that is not in the budget right now, currently starving college student. That would be awesome though. You know a funny thing happened a few hours after I posted this. Out of the blue I went down to CSS and stumbled into the packing area and saw about 15 guys going through two seperate CRW dive! It was awesome to watch! I assume the guy leading it was jackson (I got his name but I forgot, bad with names ). I think something is telling me to do CRW. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

thanks for explaining that. I only gave any input bc it was explained to me by a proficient swooper awhile ago like I said. I guess I should always keep reading and asking as many people as many different questions as possible. Thanks spizzzarko!
But I don't see the advantage of putting on more weight, then upsizing
I think the idea has to do with the recovery arc being so short on tiny canopies due to their short ass lines. A 120 crossbraced canopy is going to have a longer recovery arc (the time it takes to recover from a dive, i.e. you swing back under it) than a 75 at the same wingloading. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please, but I think that's the general idea. Makes sense. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

are you lined up straight into the wind line? (i know might be obvious but it could be a possibility ) --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

i already own it, im still waiting on strong to reply. thanks for the advice guys. Whatever it does to my rig it still has to be freefly friendly first and foremost. Do you think the mod detracts any from the durability of the rig in freefall chuck? (referring to the "shit hanging out" hehe

I am aware that only a master rigger could do such work, but thanks for posting that. You also must of missed the part where I said I had already contacted the manufacturer. Thanks for trying to help though. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

The quasar 2 has very tight closed corners, making it probably a pretty poor choice as an off the rack rig for WS flying. How hard would it be to modify the corners on the rig to make them open or "dynamic". Thanks I appreciate your help (I have emailed Strong too but would like to hear any other first hand experience). --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
