    London Skydivers

I thought you lived 'oop north' ? are you sure you strictly qualify as a 'London skydiver'? anyway I'm not sure if I want the responsibility of being a secretary, I'm not very organised, Zeemax where are you, you're good at this kind of crap. Plus you're the biggest London based post whore on here. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

yeah but we're not that organised! Not sure who Craig P is, but its probably a nice idea to start a mailing list of London jumpers. Theres a lot of us who live here and it could be quite a nice social thing. Fellow Londoner DZ.commers - what do you think? ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

hey there, I live in Streatham, work in Knightsbridge and jump at Chatteris. Its probably about time we organised another London jumpers get together, its been a while! Anybody got any suggestions for dates, places etc? ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  4. I have to say reading this thread and looking at the Aerograd website it looks really cool over there - I think I shall definately be slotting it into my plans for next summer! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  5. now come on Dave, surely you're not classing yourself as a sophisticated gentleman! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  6. who you mean Shrek? yeah - come on England - lets go all the way!! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  7. As far as hotels go, I work for a hotel group so if you need pointers about where to stay please feel free to PM me, I can probably get you some cheaper rates than you would usually get if we have hotels in the area as well. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  8. I jump at Chatteris, so I know they won't have a problem with refresher training you. Just give Mike (the CCI) a ring and he'll let you know exactly what they want you to do. All the AFF instructors there tend to be very busy at the weekends with tandems, but if you head up there during the week they have much more time on their hands. Everyone at Chatteris is pretty friendly, but if you want to see a friendly face PM nearer the time when you go up there and I will come and say hello if I'm up there. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  9. I was pretty much in the same situation, I got my UK A licence after 20 jumps and then had 7 months off. Getting back into it, I had to do a lot of emergency drills training and had to do a level 7 AFF jump with an AFF instructor who then cleared me to carry on as an A licenced jumper. Personally I thought that was a good thing as there was no way I would have just carried on as I left off after that period of not jumping. What DZ did you jump at before? Are you going back to the same one?

  11. If you live in Witham the closest dz is probably Chatteris which is north of Cambridge. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  12. The difference being that Skyrad is not the President of the United States and speaking for 290 odd million people in a sensitive time of war with another country... ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  13. I'll be there 6th - 12th June if anyone else is!
  14. Great, well I don't have any time booked off work yet, so if you manage to find some cheap flights out there let me know! I have 13 jump tickets sat out there with my name on I need to use up by July!
  15. thanks, but thats the whole point, I'm going in August and the hotel etc prices are extortionate!
  16. thanks for the info. €20 for a room sounds better than €15 a bed in the bunkhouse! I'll have to investigate!
  17. Nimbin website is http://www.nimbin2000.com/. I have emailed them for their prices but I haven't heard back from them yet. (I did only email them yesterday though so I'm not knocking their customer service!) The new CPCB bunkhouse is €12 a night usually but €15 in peak season (according to their website).
  18. Hi, I'm actually looking for the Nimbin prices, the bunkhouse that was run by Sophie last year down in the town. I need to use up some jump tickets in June and then I'm hopefully going back again in August, but CPCB are quoting 15 euros a night for a bunk in the new bunkhouse on site. You got any plans to head out there soon?
  19. Anyone got any ideas how much it costs per night to stay there? I've looked on their website but can't find anywhere where it tells you a price. ta
  20. I live and work in London where we are pretty much reminded daily of terrorist threats from various sources, espectially since the Madrid bombings. The amount of times I've been severely delayed going to or from work due to suspected bomb alerts (left luggage) on trains, tubes and buses is shocking. And any delay on the already over burdened London transport system like this has repercussions throughout the entire day. So I'm all for that idiot being made to pay for his mistake. How hard is it to keep hold of your stuff! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  21. jump 35 - note to self, its not a good idea to try to tighten both leg straps at the same time close to pull altitude.
  22. ryan air regularly do 1p flight offers to other countries, you just have to pay taxes which work out about 20-25 quid each way ($35-25). ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

    Krispy Kreme's...

They def do sell them in Harrods, I work opposite it and we usually have a tray of them in the office every Friday morning. I actually nearly went to the launch party there back in Oct last year. Still can't stand them though. Not seen them for sale anywhere else in London. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  24. nothing like long shots huh? ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  25. I'm not going to be able to make it for the party, but I shall see you all bright and early on the Sunday. Heres hoping the weather picks up before then. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
