  8. for the Brits (as you'll probably be the only ones who've heard of him) I heard a simply hilarious version of the Floral Dance by Terry Wogan on TOTP2 last week. God it was awful! That has taken 1st place in my personal list of awful songs. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  9. thats ok, i'm more at the level of having someone jump out of the plane with me and go WOO-HOO all the way down rather than actually turning any points anyway! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

  13. thats very true, one of the downsides of working in central London. its actually cheaper for me to get my lunch from Harrods food halls than it is from the local sandwich shops. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  14. heaven forbid you should get up 10 minutes earlier and make yourself something to take in, or take in leftovers from the night before. don't you have a microwave or anything where you work? (btw - this isn't what I do
  15. haha you actually made me laugh out loud at your comments Jamile , but to second third fourth whatever all the Brits comments on here, we really don't care about being filmed so why should you? Speaking as a girl who has to travel through Wandsworth borough (featured in Johns original article) alone to and from work sometimes late at night via public transport, I openly welcome my every move being on film. So what if they catch me drunk and stupid from time to time? If people know they are being filmed the bigger deterent for doing something more serious as far as I'm concerned. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

    MySQL

I'm a DBA and use SQL each and every day (lucky me), its very easy to learn, do you have any previous knowledge of any other programming languages? I actually learnt while I was at University by using the SQL script in MS Access (boo hiss yes I know) which is slighty different to standard SQL, but it gives you a good idea of what you are doing especially if you are already familiar with Microsoft products. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

  19. not sure if I should admit this on here, but the dumbest thing I ever did was flare to land in the correct direction but too close to some high hedges forgetting that this would affect my canopy, and as I touched the ground, staggered sideways as the crosswind off the top of the hedge hit my canopy and promptly slipped and fell face down into a ditch 3ft deep full off muddy stinky water. much thanks again to the rigger who managed to save my altimeter and the cypres! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  20. hi, yes theres a few of us on here! I jump usually at Chatteris. welcome to dz.com! if you live anywhere near London come along and join us for a beer tonight! ... or join some of us at the uk dz.com meet down in Nethers in May. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  21. when I had a lay off for a number of months last winter (yes I was a fair-weather jumper!) just after I'd got my A licence, my CCI made me do some EP practice on the ground and got me doing some cutaways in the harness and a repeat level 7 AFF. I've just had another 5 months off due to a shoulder injury and will probably have to do the same next weekend when I hope to get back in the air (
