    Is That A Sperm??

My boss asked me if I thought it was appropriate to wear a phallic symbol around my neck at work after a number of drinks down the pub one day, I'd been wearing it on and off for a number of months by that point though without him ever bringing it up. After explaining what it actually was, I did ask him why on earth he thought I would wear a phallic symbol around my neck at work and then he got quite embarrassed. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

    Help

BPA is 'British Parachute Association' (Brit equivalent of the USPA); AGM is 'Annual General Meeting' (read our annual get together / drinking session). ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  3. I did my AFF in Spain at Empuria Brava and loved every minute of it. I would definately recommend it. And you can get flights to Barcelona from Gatwick or Stansted for around 20-30 quid depending when you go! The cost of the course is a hell of a lot cheaper than jumping in the UK too. The only problem I found from doing it abroad though is that once you come back to the UK its a little bit harder to settle into a dropzone as you're not 'their' student. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  4. Its something to do with oxygen depletion in the blood I think. Its a BPA (UK version of the USPA) recommendation/regulation, I'm not sure which. I spoke to the National Blood Service about it a while back and they said that you shouldn't, the same as if you scuba dive regularly. I used to give blood regularly but since I've been skydiving (August 2002), I've only given blood when I know I'm going to have a few months off (like now, shoulder injury). ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  5. Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't think you were supposed to give blood when you skydive? Or maybe thats just a British regulation. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  6. I used to go from Stansted airport a lot when I lived that side of London. The best way to get there from London is by the Stansted Express which goes from Liverpool Street. Its walkind distance from Farringdon to Liverpool Street and then the train from there takes 45 mins to Stanstead and takes you right to the terminal. It costs £13.80 so its not too expensive either. The link to their website is here anyway: www.stanstedexpress.com ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

    BPA AGM - the list

Quotewhat a bunch of british post whores?!?! Quote I'm not a post whore... still got 10 (9 after this - slowly getting there) more posts til I lose my newbie status... but I have made about 15 of those posts the last 2 days - my bosses would be shocked if they knew! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  8. After getting my A licence I took 6 months off due to work commitments and then general laziness. When I started back again I had to do refresher training and also a repeat level 7 AFF jump although they didn't make me pay the full AFF jump price for it. I had only done about 22 jumps though previously and only 3 of those were post A licence jumps. Theres no way in the world I would have just got back in the plane without any refresher training though, even if they'd said I could have! -- edited because I'm a div and can't spell ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

possibly true, but I don't think I could even attempt to eat one sober as I just associate them with feeling horribly sick the next morning! kind of the same way I can't stand the smell of apples any more from drinking way too much cider when I was a teenager... ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

and you call yourself a student! but as a bit of a tip, go for the chicken ones with proper chicken rather than the usual road kill ones, they're slightly better on the stomache... ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

    Baby Names

I think the name Gaia is very pretty for a little girl. Not very common but a very old name as she was the Greek Goddess of the Earth. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
