I work for NASA and that is exactly what it is and no - it doesn't have a chance in hell of being funded.

He loved it! Wants me to pay for lessons, of course. Oh well, it will give him something to save up for.

OK, a couple more, not from this weekend but when my son went on a tandem in August. Six is Nutz - ready to go. Seven is Harold Mitchell TI, Scott and Nutz. "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"

At Skydive Alabama in Vinemont Saturday to be specific. One is the DZO, all I am going to say is that it is his airplane, I guess he can do what he wants with it although we hope he doesn't tear it up. Two is David King making another perfect landing. Three is Freebird lading after an rw jump in which I am sure that he took someone out. Four is what happens to your hair when you wear a ProTec. (Did I mention it was cold?) Five is the afforementioned DZO making his normal swoop on landing. (He made it off of the engine BEFORE the plane started taxiing.

I want to know where you find these girls. None of them around here want to have anything to do with any of that. "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"

Man, a couple of deer hunters were asking me about hunting under a parachute today at work. I think there are laws against using airplanes to hunt and I don't think shooting is something I would want to do while I am flying to the ground. (Here in Alabama you are likely to get shot back at too. ) "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"

I got one a few years ago - a three way sign off of a stop sign. I still have not found anyone to stick with that one.

Tennesse Skydiving Center -- Aircraft

If you don't like the stickers - compain to the city, they are not up here anymore because the city went around and cleaned them all up. Also, here in Alabama it is against the law to advertise on the state right of way so whomever is putting them up is breaking the law. -
Hey! Stop talking about me! (I WISH I had been on a date with you.)

Bite me! I have to stay at work all day and can't get to the dz until tomorrow.

What's your worst ride up to altitude???
Nutz replied to kitof1976's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
We hit the "wake" from a C-130 at about 12,000' once. All at once the plane does a nose dive. The pilot did not know what was going on. Then it happened again and the pilot said that it felt like the tail was going to fall off. I said it was ok I would walk from here. He flew over the airport and let us out, when he got back to the ground it was discovered that the tail needed new bushings. Scariest plane ride ever. -
Hey Casey! You ready to come see us and leave your worse half at home? Just kidding Jamie! (Well only halfway. ) I hope you guys have great success with your new venture. And hey, maybe you'll get some skydiving in too! "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"

I think the high altitude jump. That one really stands out. 22,500', 1:30 of freefall. as crap. -
Hmmmmmm - the dz is 50 miles away and there is an international airport between here and there. Maybe if we turn off the gps and ignore atc, it might work.
-
I understand all that and by mentioning it here I have given up all hope of actually doing it until I get the rating (PRO) or at least a d license and a PRO rated buddy who will do it for free. All these nice days with no wind are driving me crazy. And there is this field behind my house that would be just perfect for landing in. C'mon Saturday!

If the pilot gets caught he WILL lose his ticket. I think it would be very difficult for the pilot to get caught, on the other hand, it would be very easy for the skydiver to get caught and the pressure to give up the name of the pilot would be severe to say the least. I was just wondering what the penalty would be for doing it.
-
Say I can find a pilot crazy enough to let me jump out of his airplane, what are they going to do to me? Nevermind all the safety and liability concerns, I make a succesful jump and the pilot gets below radar and flys away to - wherever, my canopy opens and John Q Public floods the 911 center and the deputy who lives down the street puts 2 and 2 together and comes to see me. "Boy, don't you know that is agin' the law? Let me introduce you to your new best friend, Bubba." Could you get jail time? Or is it just a fine and confiscation of gear? BTW, anybody want to loan me some gear?

would have to be a quickie. real quick. might take some practice. hmmm...... I'm UP for it, heh, heh, heh. Well according to my wife anyway. "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"

Be careful about posting in the women's forum, a nasty female moderator pms- ing may delete your post and send you a nasty e-mail. I think we should have a men's only forum and then when a woman comes in asking about beer we can have a male moderator delete their post and send them a nasty e-mail. Or maybe not.
