$12 King Air Jumps at Skydive Alabama
Nutz replied to skydivegirl's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Man, I hope there is a crowd out this weekend. -
I smoke about a pack a day, probably more at the dz. I have never had any problems with getting out of breath except for when the pilot gets lost and we fly around at 15,500 MSL for 20 minutes. (OK, it wasn't that long. It was about 7-10 minutes though and I just conciously breathed deeper and faster, don't know if it helped.) I do get tired walking back from landing at the other end of the airport. Packing makes me sweat like a stuck pig. I have done one high altitude jump from 22,500, it was cool as crap man a minute and a half of freefall, they made me sit in the front of the plane near the O2 bottle.

New Skydiver's Question...About Reserve Chute
Nutz replied to Kramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
173: 1 Jump 63, had a spinner held onto both handles. -
Probably been posted before but here goes: 1 If the enemy is in range, so are you. 2 Incoming fire has the right of way. 3 Don't look conspicuous, it draws fire. 4 There is always a way. 5 The easy way is always mined. 6 Try to look unimportant, they may be low on ammo. 7 Professionals are predictable, its the amatuers that are dangerous. 8 The enemy invariably attacks on two occassions: a When you are ready for them. b When you are not ready for them. 9 Teamwork is essential, it gives them someone else to shoot at. 10 If you can't remember, then the claymore is pointed at you. 11 The enemy diversion you have been ignoring will be the main attck. 12 A "sucking" chest wound is natures way of telling you to slow down. 13 If your attack is going well, you have walked into an ambush. 14 Never draw fire, it irritates everyone around you. 15 Anything you do can get you shot, even nothing. 16 Make it tough enough for the enemy to get in and you won't be able to get out. 17 Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than yourself. 18 If you are short of everything but the enemy, you are in a combat zone. 19 When you have secured an area, don't forget to tell the enemy. 20 Never forget that your weapon is made by the lowest bidder. There are some things there you should definitely remember. I hope our troops are home soon.

I figured that you had all heard it before, especially you gov't types, but I had to post it.

Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt, the fertilizer king; and Oh Schitt, the owner of the Kneedeepin Schitt Inn. Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt and they had six kids. Their first little Schitt, Holy Schitt passed on shortly after birth. Next came twin sons, Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt. Then they had two daughters, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, then another son Bull Schitt. Deep Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. Dip Schitt married Lotta Schitt and they have one son, Chicken Schitt. Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt married the Happens brothers. The Schitt-Happens children are Dawg Schitt, Byrd Schitt and Horse Schitt. Bull Schitt married an italian girl, Pisa Schitt, they have a baby named Hawg Schitt. They divorced and she remarried a man named Head. She now goes by the name Schitt-Head. If you read this far and don't know who these people are, you probably don't know Jack Schitt in the first place.

LMFAO!! It is like that fish that changes sex whenever it wants to, sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.
-
OMG There is no difference now than there was before. It is not like I have been neutered. Please don't tell my wife I said that. (Maybe I have been neutered.)
-
BEER!!!!

I get them all the time, I think it is the way the rig fits. Or else the dang three rings dig into my arm on opening. If that is the only injury I recieve, I don't worry about it.
-
Yes, and I have a main canopy attatched to my rig as well.
-
I was digging through some old pictures and found this one of me when I was very young. (Bet you wish you started this early.)
-
I was there last week and I can tell you, it is cold at night. Also there are alot of grasshoppers around but they were not a problem. They could be alot bigger by the time the boogie rolls around though. Hope you have as much fun as I did!

8 minutes? Try 7, that thing is fast! (And you ALWAYS get a good spot.)

My doctor gave me welbutrin once, supposed to be an anti depressant, had the opposite effect on me plus made me just, I don't know, not care about anything, no energy. Plus I kept right on smoking. I think it is mostly mental, you just have to decide to quit and then do it. Thank you all for the suggestions and - wish me luck!
-
Basically, I have been trying to quit for the last 20 years. I made it a year a couple of times, usually it is 6 monthes although last time I only made it 24 days. So now I have this cold and sore throat which is killing me and making it hard to breath so I am wanting to quit again. I have been to learn not to smoke class twice to no avail, I think it is something to do with brainwashing myself, I just can't do it. I have no problem brainwashing myself to keep on though. Any suggestions?

Hail to the King Boogie @ Skydive Alabama!!
Nutz replied to meridianjumper's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Is this like a hail to David King? It is not Elvis' birthday or anything, right? By the way, I put my watch on the plane yesterday, I mean I timed the lift, and it was 12 minutes. Man that thing is fast! -
I am sitting home with a cold and noticed these robins feeding their young in a tree in my backyard. They never would let me take their picture on the nest.

There was a guy at the dz this weekend wearing a shirt with a big name tag on it that said,"Hello My Name Is Malfuntion." He was packing student rigs. I thought it was kind of funny, unless you were a student.

You must be patient grasshopper, the more you have of one color and the longer you wait to collapse them give you bigger bonuses. When you get to level 9 and above, if you can fill half the screen with one color before you collapse them you will get over a million pionts bonus.

I've gotten over 4,000,000. It has been awhile and I have moved on to other activities.

You know, I've been thinking about this for the last couple of weeks. We did talk about it when we got to the ground. No fight, we are both pretty easy going people plus I do kinda like the dude. (Get your mind out of the gutter.) The getting close under canopy was probably the most dangerous thing he did to me and it wasn't like crw distance or anything I just had to make a slight correction on final. I really just wanted some opinions about deploying with someone latched onto me and I got that. Also, I will certainly keep this in the back of my mind for the future.

Jumping a round, phbh. No, it is not round I just don't know if it is eliptical. (I know for a fact the reserve is not round either because I have seen it fly after a line over.) PHBH is a noise, by the way. Just try to pronounce it phonetically and you will get the idea.

He did have his hand in my harness, specifically my left leg strap. That was what worried me was maybe his fingers getting pinched between my strap and thigh. (Man that would suck coming down with someone's arm connected to you, I think I would throw it away before I got to the ground.) He has over 200 jumps (C license I think). I have 163 (B license still ). We are both about 1.3 on our canopies. (Mine is square, don't know about his, don't care.) I like the kick him in the face idea - good one. Maybe that is what I was subconsciouncly trying to do when I was flailing around.
-
OK, I am doing a two way out of the Cessna. He climbed out and I followed. Plan was to dock in front of each other, turn slightly right and drive forward to dock on leg straps. Then we would both start tracking and see how fast we could spin. Exit was fine and we were in front of each other. When we went to side dock we wound up circling each other to the left. Finally spun off and then tried to come back together. As we came together I glanced and we were screaming through 6000'. I figured there was not enough time to dock and start tracking, as we were going to break at 5000' anyway, so I waved bye and turned and went to track away. As I was tracking I can feel a drag on my left side and I am thinking, "Man, I hope my deployment goes ok." I looked back and dufus has a grip on my leg. We are getting to deployment altitude and he is not letting go. I start flailing around and screaming, "Let me go, let me go!!!" I realized that he could not hear me so I reached back and whacked his hand. On the ground he said that when I did that he thought that maybe he should check the altitude. I told him that that was his last chance to let me go before I deployed. I just turned away and tracked for like a second and then deployed. I get the usual snivel, snivel, turn, snivel finally open headed right for him. I make a quick 180 and look at the altitude - 2000'. That is very low for me to just be getting under canopy. I head for the dz and fly a right hand pattern so as not to fly over the runway and when I turn into the wind on final, here he is coming right at me, makes a quick turn and cuts me off trying to hit the spot for accuracy. I was wondering what would happen if I deploy with someone holding on to me. (And hopefully make them realize they are fixing to splatter.) Or, maybe I did the right thing hitting his hand? I think though that this is someone I would avoid jumping with in the future. Comments?
