I thought it was kinda funny actually. He's holding her hands and telling her how he doesn't think he's right for her and the smile on her face just vanishes. Then she yanks her hands out of his and just stands there looking pissed as hell. He asks if she's ok and she just flat out says "No, I'm not!" She was so pissed! And Bob didn't know what to do after that. Things became completely awkward between the two of them. Very true, but it gave me great confidence in my ability to pack pretty much from the get go. I hear about people that should have their A license and still don't know how to pack and think how lucky I am that I had a rigger who was willing to teach me so early on. I think I was signed off to self pack before I even finished AFF. __________________________________________ Have you Got Flare?

In my limited experience, I've jumped a helicopter, caravan, skyvan, c182, porter, and otter. Aside from the helicopter jump, my favorite exit is out of the skyvan. Sometimes I like to do a kind of swan dive exit off the ramp, go inverted, and watch the plane as I fall away...... __________________________________________ Have you Got Flare? -
I remember my first pack job quite well. It was on my third AFF jump! That was one hell of a jump between having to do the specific tasks and worring if the chute I just packed was going to open correctly. I just kept telling myself that if a ball of crap comes out when I pull the ripcord or nothing at all, one of my instructors will just fix the problem..... Now, I prefer to pack for myself. I like to take my time and make sure to pack correctly. That way if I have a problem, I have no one to blame but myself. Also, the money saved on packjobs I can use for more jumps! __________________________________________ Have you Got Flare?

Question for people who know .Net (warning...technical thread here)

I currently work for a company that is strictly Java based. We rely heavily on XML and J2EE methodologies. I'm considering a job with another company that is .Net based. So my questions are: how much different is .Net from Java? If you're familiar with one, is hard to pick up the other (being that they are both OO in nature) ? What does the market look like for people who know .Net (people are always looking for J2EEE architects)? Yep....and I guess a common misconception is that termainal velocity is some magic set number, but it isn't. Your own terminal velocity will vary depending on whether you're freeflying or belly flying. Terminal velocity is just what it says--the velocity where you no longer accelerate. __________________________________________ Have you Got Flare?

Amen to that! (if their body fat is over 15% that is) But I don't think there are many pro bodybuilders even in the 280 range. Jay Culter competes at 260 and he's one of the bigger dudes out there. __________________________________________ Have you Got Flare?

It's a good question though...I'd say in the heavier weight range, no, but I could very well be wrong about that. But then again, most of the guys in the upper 200 lb range have been lifting for so many years that when they started steroid use was acceptable. I think that if you look at people in the 170 range, you'll find a lot more "natural" bodybuilders. Most of the bodybuilding community today recognize the severe implications of using steroids which is why many now use growth hormone, which can also work wonders for muscle size (not that I've tried it) __________________________________________ Have you Got Flare?

And don't forget damn good genes...If you don't have the genes for muscle definition like the guy in the commercial, you'll never achieve that look. I can point you to a few examples of professional body builders who lack in certain areas due to genes, and a few articles to back up that statement as well. Just a bit of FYI for those interested....
