They are indeed. This is an act of terrorism. All threats must be investigated and taken very seriously - which would be a very good reason why the terrorists behind this weeks tragedy may be doing this. However, if it is some local yahoos having fun, they a playing a very serious sick game that makes them no different than a terrorists; they are aiding in the damage of their own country.

Skyhawk, I'd hate to see you go. Until now, I didn't want to jump in on this. I lived in oz for 5 years - and I can say, your comments were not meant as how some people took them. There are many sayings in many countries that people would just not understand until they have been a part of the culture. It is unfortunate that using local term on an international forum has resulted in this. If you had continued to use terms that you knew offended people it probably would be best to leave. But this is not the case. I sure do hope you change your mind and stay. Cheers, NewGuy

Ninja dude; I don't understand the need to stir the pot in the wake of such tragedy.

This article represents the sentiment of most, if not all Canadians that I know. Our thoughts and prayers are with all our American cousins and any who suffered injury or loss from yesterdays tragic events.

I'm glad you posted this. Me too... Anything else would be unspeakable.

Glad to hear you want to give him a chance to work it out. Although it sounds like he is in the wong, there are always two sides to every story - and fixing the problem is better than tarnishing someone's name, even if they are in error. If he does put forward his name and still doesn't correct the problem - we can giv'm both barrels! Cheers, NewGuy

As far as I understand the law, they received your money; money order, cheque, cash, whatever, it was received and they are legally bound to either return your money or send the suit. If this is correct, getting your $$ back is another matter... I find it astonishing that any reputable person would even attempt to try to pin that one back on you - they lost the money. Once it is in their hands you are no longer responsible for it. Was the money order made out to the person? If so, they should be the only ones able to cash it - which could help. Best of luck on that one. NewGuy

Check attachement: My first canopy. Hornet 190. I thought it was a good colour choice at the time... but now, I'm wondering... oh, well... I didn't have to pay extra and I was waiting on a container so I wasn't worried about the delay for a custom order. Cheers, NewGuy

One of the guys who occassionally comes around our dropzone painted a ReMax logo on the bottom of his canopy. He said he painted it on himself... A always thought that the paint would chip off. Cheers NewGuy

This strikes me as a bit reckless; in the same catagory as parents that ski with their baby/toddler strapped in on their backpack/frontpack (no flames please, just my optinion, do as you like). The child has no understanding of the risk involved to be able to make an informed decision. I wouldn't stop someone from doing this - but certainly wouldn't do it myself. Cheers, NewGuy

You know, I've had more attention from the ladies since my daughter was born than I can ever remember. Who would think that kids are babe magnets? Not much good that is now I'm happily married and off the list... oh, wait, this is still good, they are potential baby sitters! Cheers, NewGuy

And that's the way it should be! Cheers, NewGuy

I wonder what the whuffo's would think? (not that that should sway anyone's opinion). Before I got into skydiving, I didn't know what a closing pin was and I thought a lot of skydivers were wearing poorly fashioned phallic symbols... One of the guys at our DZ has a closing pin tattooed to the back of his neck. It's looks kinda cool - and whoever sits behind him in the plane sees it. But if you don't know what it is... Cheers, NewGuy

That would be against the law in Canada!!! Recently a law was passed that women have the right to bear their booty in public! An equality issue they say. Sounds sexist! Cheers, NewGuy
-
This is all the proof I need to know they are evil. Except of course, the ones that show us their boobies!

Care to share? What and where's yours? Cheers, NewGuy

I'm always suspicious of anyone who turns away good business, expecially in circumstances that you described. It makes me wonder if he has something to hide. Perhaps you being there exposes more than just the fact that $325 US for a Tandum and vid is a total-royal-f***ing rip off. Well, if he can 325 for 3 slots to 8K, I guess he would turn people back. Multi-million dollar business.. my ass. Well, after scalping everyone like that he might come close. I'll be sure to pass this story on to anyone who heads that way. Cheers, NewGuy

Either there are a lot of people unemployed, or we're not working too hard today. Considering it's an afternoon of bludging on the internet today lets talk Tattoos... Anyone have some good skydiving tats? I want to get one, but just can't figure out what to get, and... well, where to put it. So what do ya think? Also, is it just me, or does it seem like there are two things a lot of chicks seem to be doing lately when they hit 30: get a tat, and to skydiving... (I'm not hitting 30, and definately not a chick) Cheers, NewGuy

Way to go! Congrats!!!! Cheers, NewGuy

Can you cook a BH more than once? Just wondering if buying a second hand BH would be an option. Cheers, NewGuy

Way to go mountainman! As skydiver once told me he used to smoke crack. He said it was actually cheaper to support a crack habit than a skydiving habit. I wouldn't know - but thought it was interesting. Is this true? One thing that is true, he now spends his $$ on skydiving and not crack... One more thing that can be added to the list of positive things skydiving does for the world. Cheers, NewGuy

Sad to say, I am one... I know there are a few out there on this forum that might find some humor in this: Every OS Sucks Behind the Scenes at Microsoft Note the blue screen of death on the desk in the background...

I like your question cus it's something I've thought about alot. At the moment, skydiving is the most enjoyable thing I do - It's all I can think of... everything else plays second fiddle. However, I can't imagine ditching work just to do it exclusively. There are way too many other things in life to enjoy: travel, scuba, martial arts, music... and many more. Most things take $$$. Work or lottery tickets are the means. Cheers, NewGuy

Here's the challenge, what words could you put to it to make it a skydiving song... I was gonna go to work But then I had to fly... up in the sky... Cheers, NewGuy

Ok, ok, ok... How about the Chest strap connects with a B12 clip (or another snap-in) and tightens like a pair of goggles. This would avoid misrouting. All you would need to check is that you have it on, and that the B12 snap is working (not sticking). Oh, more checks.... back to the drawing board, anything that requires a check is not fool proof! Cheers, NewGuy
