You are sooo cute! I'm so glad that you had so much fun, and congratulations on your first 2 jumps! You looked very comfortable and happy in the sky. I'm sure that you'll be a natural!

Honestly? Yes ... As soon as I come home, the first thing I do is take off all my clothes. I don't wear anything around my house This is probably sharing way too much information (sorry in advance), but me too!

Hello Skygal3! When I jumped my final AFF level, I went to my old dropzone on a weekday when no one was there to jump out of a cessna for the 1st time. I had only jumped out of a King Aire on my previous levels. You know what? It was relaxing and fun! I currently love the Otters the best, but I personally look forward to jumping out of many different planes, helicopters, balloons, etc. Why not try them all, Skygal?
-
Oh no, you didn't!?!

Wintermute, Tad-honey, you assume that everyone knows who Nelson Muntz is...(The Simpsons) Ah yes, it's agreed that the only downside of living with this weather is that we have to throw on some clothes if we want to leave our homes. Sigh...it's truly a difficult life that we lead here in the west coast.

There are two ways that I've been taught to get to a formation. When there is a large distance, I've been taught to swoop to the formation. You need to know how to put on brakes so you don't run people over. The other is to arch more to get to the same level as the formation and then drive forward into your slot. Hi Cora! Michele told me about you; hopefully, we'll meet someday!

Oh Michele, how I love you!

VanillaSkyGirl replied to skycat's topic in The Bonfire
Ummm....I don't think she is ready for a cobalt yet. I don't even know what a cobalt is ...thanks for looking out for me, Kelli. Phree, I just saw your PM. You are so sweet for the offer. Thank you, anyway. -

You wouldn't want my rig with the canopies it holds. Hey TG! Yes, I know that the canopy's too itsy-bitsy for me. (Read my post, again!) Trust me, I'm a canopy down-sizing chicken. Yes, I am buying Kelli's for sure... -

I should be at Perris the the 21st, but can always make a side trip to Elsinore. I can meet you anywhere, Kelli. I'll go to Perris. (I'm not scared..too much... Ummm...do you know of any 150 mains or of a cypress that can be added? I wish that I had paid for that package deal way back when, but I guess that it just wasn't meant to be at the time. TequilaGirl - Hi! I think that I inquired about your rig before! Of course, the main was a little too small...LOL! Shoot, the cypress that Kelli was going to put in to the Reflex was yours, wasn't it? Aaauuuuggghhhh...I wish that I had already bought her Reflex! -

I'm so happy for you, girl. -
VSG, CB, Michele, since it may be slow on wed., do you want to change the plan to friday? I can go on Friday, Grasshopper. I just cannot stay too late as I have to be in Chatsworth in time for a special dinner for my cousin. Michele, you can let me know Thursday night, no problem. Be sure to call me though because if you don't go, then there is a chance that I may not go either. (I may be too tired from Thursday's San Diego drive to go to Elsinore on Friday.) Anyway, no pressure to jump together or anything, until we feel comfortable. I predict that we will do just fine together, though. It feels great to have someone supportive on the plane or in the air. :)

Hi Ed! That sounds great! However, if you can't make it, it's totally OK. Today, I called Skydive San Diego, and they said that an appointment is needed during the week. I am probably calling them tomorrow to get more detailed info. It sounds like a small dropzone, but that is fine with me. You can PM me later when you know what's happening. :) ROSA

I was hoping to also go to Elsinore during the week. Maybe we can meet up, and Grasshopper can be our packing bytch. (Just kidding, Grasshopper!) He suggested that if we both meet up at Elsinore some time during the week, then he will drive out and pack for us. Do you want to do some 2-ways? Also, is anyone going to be available to do some 2-ways in San Diego (Skydive San Diego?) this Thursday (5/15)? I will be in the area from around 1p.m.ish until sunset load.

I did something really stupid yesterday. It was my CTP #1. I cut away for no apparent reason...then I landed on the runway. Yep the jump cost me over $400!! Are you sure that you cutaway for no reason or did an instructor or someone make you confused about your cutaway? What did you think that your malfunction was when you decided to cutaway? You may have done the right thing, but others may have been doubting your actions as a student. People always second-guess their cutaways. I almost quit jumping when I had my 2nd cutaway by my 16th jump. My first cutaway, I knew was necessary, but I second-guessed my 2nd one as others made me feel that this was a bad move. However, I now know that I did the right thing in cutting away. You decision altitude is your decision altitude. Period. End of story. Don't feel bad for cutting away. You rock, Snowboundlava, for walking away from another skydive. Live to jump another day, girlfriend!

Congrats on stickin' with it and gettin' the "A". Thank you, Jumperconway! For sure, I will let you know when I get my 100th! :) Thank you, Clownburner and Casie for the kind words! :) You sweet people on the forum have given me the strength to feel a healthy confidence within myself! It almost brings me to tears every time that I hear from one of you or when I think that I came soooo close to not jumping anymore. It sounds corny, but the quote "wind beneath my wings" comes to my mind when I think of all of you. I think that I will definitely try to make it to the Memorial Day Boogie to pass out the hugs to you all...

Please tell him in a gentle way as he may not know (how embarrassing) or may have an underlying health condition that causes it. My own mother told someone about his breathe by referring to Phoebe's "Smelly Cat" song from the show "Friends". "By the way, you know that song "Smelly Cat"? Well..." (I am not kidding!) How could he be offended as she then sang a few lines? She also offered medical advice. Needless to say, he took care of his "Smelly Cat" syndrome.

The thing is, Muhammad, the vendor is kinda like the soup nazi from Seinfeld. I love it...a weiner Nazi!!!

what did you do that for?! get back over there and rock his world like the north ridge quake all over again!! Well, there's always tonight...

Do you have his ashes? Maybe you can do a memorial Brutus sunset skydive to say your own personal goodbye, or you can release his ashes on a hike or trail that he loved. Even if you don't have his ashes, you can jump with his dog tag or picture in your jumpsuit pocket. Say a special goodbye in the heavens to him. Cry in the beauty that is the sky. I understand as my best, best friend (human) died unexpectedly about 5 years ago. It hurt my heart and soul unequivocally. Time will help to lessen your grief. The sadness will eventually peak, then you will find the strength to think of Brutus' death with a new understanding. Take care, Skymonkey.

I was wearing a red and yellow checkered bomber F/F suit. Gosh, I don't remember who was wearing what, but I agree that there were many pretty skygirls! I'm sure that you had a blast! (Did you see the gorgeous almost nude tandems? LOL!) Anyway, my guy and his buds are freeflyers, too! I want to eventually Freefly, so I hope that if we end up at the same place again; my friends and I can jump with you, too! Our main crew is Tad (my guy), who's bald with a mostly white (w/ black and gray strips on sides) 2-piece FF suit. His bud, Kelley is also bald w/a mostly white (w/blue/black stripes) FF suit. Ronnie (now jumps at Monterey) has dirty-blonde hair and a black FF w/ red/orange flames on side. Ronnie's girl Haley (newbie) is very, very skinny w/ blue 2-piece FF suit. My FF suit (black, white and powder blue stripe) is to be ready tomorrow, but on last Sunday I wore (too) many layers & jeans under a green/black RW suit. I am totally new to this, so I don't yet know what discipline I will pursue most. Anyway, it sucks that we missed you. I will look out for your FF suit the next time that you're up here!
