Why did you start skydiving/ BASE jumping?
flyinchicken replied to lkolkin's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I was always the kid with her head, feet, hands... hanging out the window on the highway, while her dads yelling and desperately trying to grab her back in. Jump to age 28. Things weren't going so good, new job sucked, money wasn't coming in, room mates sucked I spent hours on the puter hiding in my room an met this guy.... http://www.skyfilth.com We talked for a whole summer and I was going nutz cuz I couldn't jump! Well at the end of the summer Sedge got sick of my whining and sent me a ticket to go to Cali in the mail. Took me too Perris, threw me out of a plane an sent me home. I haven't looked back! Sedge you rock f*@k! "Diligent observation leads to pure abstraction". Lari Pittman -

I just have to say....I have my own Joe! His name is Trucker Dave, and he makes his home at Perris Valley in the winter. I had 23 jumps and an A license.....and I knew shit! He took care of me, made sure I was paying attention, and gave me SOLID advice. I have too say that the people in our sport who help out the newbies, and make sure they stay heads up....well they are the ones who rock! Here's too Dave an Joe! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO! get me in a plane now or i'll ......
flyinchicken replied to Trepel's topic in Introductions and Greets
He he Trepel! Just wait soon you will spend every cent you ever had on flinging urself from planes, you will lose all of your non-skydiving friends......... An just try and stay at work when the sky is blue....... "Diligent observation leads to pure abstraction". Lari Pittman -
Well.......... I am broke all the time. My family and friends think I should be committed. I can't go out with any of my non - skydiving friends anymore(thier eyes glaze over the second I mention the sky). Most important. I was a workaholic. Worked 7 days a week started early and worked late. Partied hard and my nerves were frazzled all the time. This was me before skydiving. Now, I take weekends OFF. I am relaxed, don't have time or money to spend on drugs or parties(hey that's jump money). I walk around staring at the sky with a stupid look on my face and my world is as it should be. Skydiving saved my life. "Diligent observation leads to pure abstraction". Lari Pittman

How far have you come since your 1st post?
flyinchicken replied to AggieDave's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well, my first post was April of this year, I had about 68 jumps and was starting out my first real season as a licensed skydiver. I now have 194 and can't wait to do my 200th nekked in Cali with my newly A licensed buddy Karri! Just ordered my new Infinity, and I'm hoping it will be waiting there for me when I get there. I've been skydiving for 2 yrs now, my first year was a bit unsettling as the DZ I was at did not give me much confidence and the training was a lil erratic. This past summer was one of the best of my life! My new family at Burnaby, taught me a lot and gave me a lot of confidence as well as set me str8 on a few things. Head down baby! Next season I would like to get my instructer A and coach 1, as well as my C and D licence(CSPA). I'm thinking I will write for my USPA B and maybe C while I'm in Cali. I'm hoping I may get to do a few skyboard training jumps as well. I think that I may fall in love skysurfing. Over the next 5 years...I want to love my sport, the people in it and travel to Dz's all over the world(I'll be heading to Morrocco in Jan). I want to learn a little more everyday of the many ways I can fly and be safe while doing it. The sky set me free, and I will embrace it till the day I die. I was checking out Oniscore and saw something strange. Kathy and Steve from Elsinore only scored in the first round. Did something happen too either of them? I'm hoping not. Does anyone know the reasons for this? "Diligent observation leads to pure abstraction". Lari Pittman -
Wow feast for the eyes! Looks like you had a gr8 time. Cheers. "Diligent observation leads to pure abstraction". Lari Pittman
