    As someone who just started jumping in the UK in March after being in Florida I can sympathise with the cold thing. Get some decent gloves !

    I did my AFF last September in Sebastain, FL. Naturally there were different teaching styles according to the instructors different personalities, and I could tell when criticism was being delt for my own good (and theirs), after all it's their lives up there as well. But there was always an atmosphere of learning AND fun from the instructors - hey, it's costing you a hell of a lot of cash so why shouldn't it be fun ? I also had a spread of instructors throughout my levels so I think that helped getting different styles of instruction. my advice would be to have a word or just ask for another instructor.

    from my diving exploits, mostly in Belize. Just a very wierd looking, rather rare fish that, well, has a mouth like a trumpet ! sorry to dissapoint on the hedges story. not had any close encounters with fauna - yet.

    Hi Is there anyone out there who jumps regularly at Hinton DZ ? I've jumped at Hinton a few times since I did my A License in the states and like it there, just wondering if there are any other new jumpers around in the same situation/stage as me (35 jumps) who go to Hinton. For those who may be thinking 'what's with the subject header?', Hinton DZ is near 'Hinton-in-the-Hedges' village.

    well, what can i say, you're all lovely lovely people ;-) but seriously, thanks for all the great feedback (escp airann) I'll be progressing to FS1 in the UK as soon as I can and B license when I can get back to the US, hopefully later in the year. I won't be trying any f-fly action until I can get my own f-fly friendly rig as a lot of the student rigs don't seem to be. once again, thanks.

    I'm new to this sport (35 jumps) and I'm hooked. I don't have my own kit yet but plan on a purchase quite soon. (probably a jav container) my question is relating to freeflying. Is this something that should really be left until you have much more experience and Is the concensus that trying stuff on your own before any dedicated instruction on freeflying just asking for trouble (re- possible collisions with jumpers that exit before you) ? As someone who is new to all this it certainly seems that freeflying is the fastest growing discipline within skydiving, but i also read about a lot more incidents occuring in this discipline. So would it be better to stick too RW for my first say 100 jumps (this seems to be the pre-requisite for some freefly coaching schools) ? if anyone has started to try f-fly positions with the same experience level as me i'd love to hear about it. thanks new boy.
