  4. I'm all for environmental concerns, but what good will it do to lower vehicle emissions when there are corporations out there who where "grandfathered" in before current guidelines who produce more pollution than anything? I say thats where the problem lies. Yes we should reduce all emissions, but it won't do much good without other concerns being delt with. It would be like trying to keep a gas tank with a hole in it full.... Here in Houston to combat the problem they ever so kindly lowered the speed limit to 55 -lol, but then down the road theres some smokestack choking the skies with industrial haze without even being looked at. -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  5. And Happy thanksgiving to you and all the folks over there in Georgia! 6. I'm not gonna argue with ya on that issue, but offer a car at that price to the general public? Hell I can probably spend enough money and make an old v-dub with 200hp -lol If it was that easy there wouldnt be so much research going into electric cars. -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  7. I think of the world as a group of people, some friends, some are not. Just as with people everyone doesnt get along, no one is the same, and nobody is perfect. So the US being one "person" in the group we have our differences / problems / imperfections. Now there comes a point, due to that fact that no one is perfect, where you have to accept this and deal / live with it. Maybe even do your part to make "yourself" better. Help a friend in need, or watch your back for your enemies. Its a part of life. Or, you could become a "different person", a new man! happy turkey day! -lol oh yeah, I've been a mechanic for a while, I've never seen a 2L engine with the same horespower as a V8, a small V6 maybe, maybe..........maybe more efficient use of resources .... to each his own, thats whats so great about this country! -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  8. Understanding the risks we take is important, or should I say respecting them. If someone is turned off by watching the video than they probably would have never jumped in the first place. -lol maybe -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  9. I personally use and recommend Source Edit , lmfao it's what I use! That way you only put exactly what you want in it! Otherwise I would recommend dreamweaver. It has increased support for other applications such as flash and fireworks, as well as other macromedia products, and it produces better "cookie cutter" pages if thats what you prefer. I think I know what you'll be using by the look of this thread! - lol have fun -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  10. There I was reading it dissapointed thinking it was just some nice idea that a kid had......... oh wait - it was! good one! -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  11. There should always be boxes of these lying around the DZ, especially the magnetic bumper stickers and "weenie babies" http://www.prankplace.com/ -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  12. LOL- Skydive Monroe rocks, I grew up in Atlanta and later moved to MOnroe where I started jumping - definately worth checking them out! (I also do their website and will be updating it when they get me what I need-lol) I've been to skydive atlanta and would always go back, never got to go there as much tho cause I lived walking distance to the Monroe DZ. Never been to rome (old or new) or ASC, aka Pauls parachuting (LMFAO) and whatever else they call themselves these days. I do know a few folks who come highly recommended (is that right?) at ASC tho! I live in Houston now, and I can personally attest to their being kick ass females in both places! ha -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  13. see attachment, probably work safge, but that depends on where you work! hahahahaha -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  14. Cost is the biggest differencec in some cases, but I think it best you stick with someone you know. You can have your domain registered at one place, but the info for it can be at another, so.... if you just pay someone to renew it for you, you can leave the domain at network solutions, so you dont have to have downtime waiting for the dns to update. As it is now tho you'll probably have to pay network solutions to renew it (too much money tho) and then move it. I personally use www.866getdomains.com for dns and everything, only $15 a year.... If you decide to move it I think you'll have to renew it with NS 1st, then move to the new one after the renewal has been completed, I think thats a 30 day rule tho lol;) it'd be easier just to pay renwal fee and forget about it..........move it somewhere cheaper before next year -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  15. Sorry, this has nothing to do with spaceballs but I saw the name on the author of this message and I couldnt hold my mouse.... we call one of our dogs zippy - lol , no offence, it's just funny, kinda.... -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  16. Kinda out of the loop on the gear goin ons these days, and I'm not at the dz everyday anymore to ask.... I have a saphire(1) with all Vectran, only about 200 jumps and the lines look fine. What are the new Safire 2's coming with these days? Are they re-lining older safires with spectra now? Just the control lines?? What would you recommend? Also, last time I packed my rig I noticed about 6 inches of stitching, about half way down the stitch, cant remember if it was between cells or mid cell, on one of the cells next to the center cell, was gone-lol, so my stitch looks like: -------------~ six inches ~------------------- I dont remember what the load bearing cells are-lol what are they? -lmfao I decided just to keep an eye on it for a few jumps, but it's on the top skin so if it rips or something I wont be able to see it under canopy, and to be honest I really dont know how this stitch is going to behave... what do you guys think? -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  17. Are there any names in the credits?? There's also some cool songs on that flyboy's "party mix" video, I looked on the credits and looked up the names on the internet... -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...

  21. I used to be a mechanic etc and have developed a few "likes" along the way-lol I usually lead toward what I know, and alot of this is based on what I saw while working for dealerships. I also tend to lean towards cars that are also easier/faster to work on etc. Take it for what you will. I havent worked in a real shop since '01. GM cars (Chevy, olds, buik, pontiac, gmc etc) 3.1(V6), 3.4(V6), 4.3(V6), 5.3(V8), 5.7(V8) -I would consider a car with any of those engines, auto or manual transmission. The only exception is the 3.1 engine that comes stock with the Camaros and Firebirds, While not necessarily a "bad" engine, I've got to many scars from working on them, and even the simplest job is a biatch! Up for the 5.7(LS1?Ithink?) in those. I think all the GM 4 cylinders are crap, lol, although the 2.2 can tough it out sometimes, I would never buy 2 particular engines in GM cars. First the Quad 4 2.4 (DOHC) is like gm's attemp to act japanese, You have to R&R half the damn engine to replace a freakin water pump and guess what, they always start leakin at some point! The job pays like 6 hours under warranty, 8 customer pay, and it almost takes that long with a lift and air tools! -lol The second is the older 3.4(DOHC)(X in the engine spot on the vin I think) God I hate those cars-lol, I'll leave it at that..... now as far as GM bodies go, I personally have a 2k Alero (for now), I like it and would recommend it with the 3.4(V6) engine option... other bodies, Corvette(I just like em even if they have styrofoam filled bumpers and body panels-lol, they go fasssst and you can get that cool heads up display and play star trek or something-ha) Also you get good tunnel vision at 150mph down hwy 78(in GA)-lol The imprints of your fingers will stick in the steering wheel tho.....oh yeah, dont get one stuck over tall grass -lol, the melt really fast and complete when the light up! any body that looks cool with a good engine-lol VW cars, I'll take an old bug anyday(non super-beetle), but I'm prepeared to do the work. I like the V6's in the passat and jetta's, I dont necessarily like gas 4cylinders but they aint bad, never seemed to do much on the diesels, I'd get one. Izuzu's I'd prolly look at any of the v6 Izuzu's, but to me Izuzi's regular maintenance is stupid tho, I just hate timing belts on em..... in short to me the best cars are the ones that have been designed to allow for minimal maintenance and easy maintenance, that looks cool, goes fairly fast, and doresnt break down alot-lol -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...

trampolines are fun, but they sqeak too much and the neighbors turn lights on sometimes ;0 - popup campers at the dz are a bad idea, especially when theres a group of people outside you didnt know were there, or too drunk to care, but you'll NEVER hear the end of it, even when you move to Texas-lol - theres a nice ledge on a cliff near Stone Mountian Park (Hugh Howel exit off 78-lol), sometime repelling gets boring. - bathrooms at raves are interesting as well..... -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  23. I just got my books for next quarter and I would like some opinions from some of ya... First of all, last quarter was Visual Basic 6. The one question I keep asking myself from the getgo is "why are we still learning VB6 stead of .net? I wondered this even more so when throughout the quarter we dont even use the book, but instead spend all day on the MSDN website because the code in the book is lame ex: open() to open files stead of scripting.fso, but then that is lame too because there is .net now-lol So I happily plod along wondering when I'm gonna be able to learn .net etc blah blah. Now my C++ book, and my GUI Design one as well, are both freakin old-lol. The C book is "Probelm Solving with C++, The object of programming using Visual C++ 6.0" by Walter Savitch, 2nd ed. Almost 3 years old and there is a FOURTH edition already out-lol Dont get me wrong, I'm excited to get to take these classes (a sure sign of the gradual decline of my life ;)) But with the emergence of .NET & C# etc where does that leave me? Back where I was at the beginning? Learning courtesy of Barnes & Noble? Then why am I in school? -lol Anyhow any opinions you have on this and/ or similar experiences to share would be 'preciated ...I'd especially like to hear what some other school are teaching..... -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  24. hey Levin, I thought I saw those events listed on that www.freeflyers.com website? Yeah, there they go! uhcouchbumpumphh - escuse me -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
  25. He did my level 1 and 5, in 96 while most folks were jumping at Monroe back then, good times... I used to wonder about jumping with radios etc, dont they even make radios into some full face helmets? I guess they could be fitted with "sport" radios rather easily? I guess if I were to wear one I'd do it like most others on here do, tucked in a packet under my junmpsuit with the wires running up past my neck and under my helmet. I think if anyhting were to snag on them they would either break, or the earpiece would be ripped loose-lolouch! I dont see needing to hear under canopy that well either as long as your not doing crew, or you dont get in a wrap, but best believe I'd choose some headphones that would be easy to remove. And I guess as long as folks arent trying to FF songs because they just have to swoop to "eye of the tiger" than it really wouldnt be that big of a deal -lol -System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
