I bought this helmet because it was inexpensive and because of the awesome goggle channel. The goggle channel seemed like a great idea ; take the goggles down just before you get out of the plane without taking the helmet of. But you can't remove the strap on most goggles, and the goggle channel can't be opened, so I had to make my own custom goggle strap to fit my goggles. But it turned out to be a waste of time. The goggles are way to loose in the sides because the goggle channel is routed on the outside of the liner. If I tighten the goggles more than this, it's really uncomfortable and I can't put the goggles up on the 'forehead' of the helmet any more. The goggle channel is a great idea, but it just doesn't work. The helmet itself is just fine. Fits nicely and provides good protection. The surface gets scratched pretty easily though.

The Sabre openings can solved by adding a bigger slider. My Sabre170 opens slowly after my rigger installed a larger slider. If I roll the nose and the tail very hard it will even snivel for up to 1500ft! Now I can choose to pack it to open anyway I like. It really is a very nice canopy when the opening has been solved. The hard Sabre openings can be solved by replacing the slider with a bigger one. The default slider is way to small. Take a look at http://www.pcprg.com/hardop.htm With my new slider on my Sabre 170 it opens softly and slowly every time. If I roll the nose it even starts sniveling 1000-1500 ft. It's a really nice canopy. It flies great and it's very stable. I don't think I will need a newer/faster canopy for many hundreds of jumps.

After a line-over I chopped my main and pulled the reserve handle. The Techno reserve opened fast and cleanly. It put me down gently for a standup landing. The Techno has a extremely good reputation in Europe.
