If I was in your position....I would use a mild detergent such as woolite....make a soap water solution...apply to the area to be cleaned with a soft bristle brush...suck out the solution with a wet/shop vac and repeat a few times...then aid the drying process with a fan..... but thats just me.......(I am not a helmet cleaning expert)

I once had a attorney named Ronald MacDonald... I lost the case........

Is this type of malfunction likely the result of a lazy throw allowing the p/c to "bounce" around in the burble or is it just as likely with a good placment of the p/c into the airstream?

WOW.....you really need to slow down read and THINK before responding to threads....you could make youself look like a real idiot..... I'd like to say thanks again to all who provided thoughtfull advise on this question....I believe I am now prepared to deal with the "death question" and other difficult questions at anytime while dealing with students
-
Just a little reminder...some people tape the F1 races as there are at the DZ on the weekend....and look forward to watching it. Might I suggest not giving away the winner in the title of your threads
-
Thank you all for the responces and PM's
-
Thanks....I am prepared to answer most questions....and most have been adressed in the FJC...and I am prepared to reanswer any of those questions.... I however find the "death" question hard to answer and was hoping for "the perfect answer" by picking the brains of some rather fine instructors.... )perfect answer not expected....good answers and ideas are much appreciated (

Thanks guys... I see alot of tap dancing in responces with a couple of exceptions.....a simple "tell them the truth" answer kinda sucks as it does not address making my already nervous students more nervous by talking about dying while skydiving Lets expand this subject a tad and ask what can be done to not have this question come up just before jump time..???.....should this subject be addressed in the FJC/tandem breifing? so it does not come up just before the jump when the student should be thinking of more important things..suchs as arching etc????
-
Dave I am also a proponent of telling the truth and I also do not work at a big DZ where fatalities are realtively common..... When is the right time to tell the truth??.....would you open up a discussion on the subject as the student is being geared up 30 minutes before they are on there way to jump for the 1st time??...or would you defer the question to a later time? How exactly would you tell the truth(if the answer is yes)? My home DZ has had 2 deaths in 20+ years..no 1st jump students.
-
I am a new IAD JM .......yesterday while gearing up a load of 1st jump students I was hit with the "has anyone ever died here?" question.....it caught me completely off guard!!!! I believe I studdered like Porky Pig for a second before responding with a quick subject change... I forgot how to deal with this question and also forgot to ask the senior instructors how to deal with it before I left the DZ. I will be addressing this with my DZO and senior instructors as soon as possible but I wonder how other instructors deal with the "question" All input is appreciated

I tried ...those were damn tasty wings.... And I like the way you think! Can you believe that the g/f actually expects me to buy her a new tray and shes not taking any responsibility for this incident
-
but I had the munchies and a few beers!!! thankfully the oven is lines with tinfoil
-
OK.....the other night we had wings(hot and honey garlic) ongion rings..motza sticks etc etc.... the left overs got put in the fridge and covered with tinfoil...completely covered... tonight...last night to eat food before green bin time....I preheat the oven and pop in the tray... 20 mins later I go an pull the tray out to find that it was not a metal pan !!!! anywho...there is now a new house rule at my place...no covering non ovenable(new word?) trays/pans with tinfoil...plastic wrap for plastic trays. my fault for not checking...but is this a unreasonable request/rule??
