    I am working on my 1st year of not smoking in 27 years.....Quit July 18th the day after I turned 40. Used nic gum for about a week..then off that too... I still want to smoke...when people ask me how its going with the non smoking...I look them straight in the eye and tell them I would slit their throat for a cig....gota keep em guessing

You wait 6 months after a repair.....and poof......"it worked great before the timing belt was done" put yourself in the shops shoes.......who in their right mind pays to have something done....then puts up with a half-assed job for 6 freaking months before coming back with a compliant????? only idiots and scammers. edited to add:cause I feel like a jerk ....if the car truely did feel down in power eversence the timing belt was done....the only way to verify proper valve timing is to remove the covers and check...serial data from a scan tool can be used to diagnose a shitload of things...but base engine and battery are still the heart...take the covers off and confirm proper valve timing.

    What??? Edited to add: I hope thats all sarcasim...jumpers not knowing their gear is a problem and will be in the future...but I cannot see how this would ever warrent the quoted statement.

    If I had a fixed customer base...raising prices would be necessary....however I do not have a fixed customer base...so better products installed generally increase the overall profit margin by allowing to me to increase my customer base and keep all happy with a better longer lasting brakes

    I find it odd that this question is even being asked...the process of the I@R remains the same...why would the price increase? I am a master mechanic.....I charge the same to put cheap brake pads on a car as I do the expensive ones that last longer...... I can just imagine what my customers would say to me if I told them that I was charging them more labour because I was installing pads that last longer

    Dropped several water balloons last fall...approx. 8 to 10cm in dia. ....dropped from 300 to 1000 ft... You wouldnt want to be hit by one...they left small craters.

Edited to add: to the OP...forget $60 a hour...decide what you want to charge for a basic patch...bootie repair...etc.....ie: $5.00 small to med patch...$10 large patch....reconstruct ass of a jumpsuit and replace with cordura..$25 per cheek Be fair but dont sell your skills short...and dont forget to barter for coached jumps etc..

    Buy the gutted 550 at www.paragear.com Item W9680 $0.35 yard USD. Pick yourself up a set of fids while your at it. Item S7995 $33.00 USD stainless or Item S7979 $9.00 USD derlin plastic I make and give em out for free.....I also keep a supply of pullups on hand to hand out....costs me hardly anything....
