    Bone Screws

I had two plates and 10 screws holding my ankle together while the bones grew back together. My doctor said it didnt' make any difference if they came out or stayed in. I decided to have them taken out. I keep them with me as a reminder. Never, Never, Never turn low... Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much

  11. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you! I watch people smoke. I always remind myself.... it is a stinky habit and does absouletly no good at all.... and hey, you'll notice that after being around smokers that your clothes smell.... I can't tell you how happy I am that I quit when I was young. I learned alot after someone I knew died from smoking. I took her to her doctors appointments... I can't tell you how terrible it is to think about her and her life... If you really want to learn about smoking, stop at a hospital and ask around.... it will scare the shit out of you..... **** just a note: you'll find out that you have lots more "stamina" after quitting for a while... 13. There are lots'a things to think about when you get a helmet. I was sooooo very lucky to have great imput from people who had years of camera flying give me pointers.... sometimes I worry when I talk with someone with just a few hundred jumps talk about how they were "focused" on getting the shot and pulled low.......... Pull higher than everyone else.... Focus on being perfectly stable on deployment. I totally love this sport and can't tell you how much joy I get shooting video and stills. however, I don't want to die doing it..... There have been way too many video fatalities the last year... one was someone I knew very well.... I will miss her.... Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much

  15. Let's see.. it's almost 45 miles each way... let's say 80miles round trip. That would be 160 miles each weekend I drive back home Saturday night. Sooo... figuring I went 30 weekends last year... and I spent the night in my tent half of those times.... would be 15 x 160 and 15 x 80..... 2,400 plus 1,200 for about 3,600..... I gotta get a car with better milage... =-D Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much

  18. I've been in a similar situation myself. There's lots'a good advice so far. I had to take a look at myself. I had to figure out what my moivations were. There is a good book called "Codependent No More" that deals with these things. I've never read it myself but have heard alot about it. Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much

My home dropzone is Skydive Elsinore in California. They put up with me there. I have to admit I do miss the Parachute Center in Lodi, California. I'll drive up a couple times this year to spend the weekend. Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much
  20. It was about 8 of us with a 182 at Lake Almanor in Northern California. There were the beautiful snow capped mountains. We landed in fields covered with wild flowers... just wonderful. Another was in Lodi. We were flying around tons of really small puffy clouds... it was so quiet we could hear eachother talk... sigh Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much
  21. I pay the packer I use $5. He's great. He packed the only Malfunction I've had, so, I bought him a case of beer. The rigger gets paid for inspection and packing. When I had a malfunction. I asked him what he would like and got it for him. Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much
