Ok, so ryanair serves Empuriabrava via Stansted/Girona pretty cheap. Anyone know what other european DZ's are in easy reach of our low cost airlines. There's nothing like flying to Europe for less than the cost of a cup of coffee !! Paid £0.52 each way for last flight to spain ! Another Brit here, although "home" DZ is probably Empuria, courtesy of Ryanair !!. Planning to hit a few more in europe this summer....just need to reconcile Ryanair locations and other DZs.. Where you normally jump ? "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

Went on the Allen Carr course (about 5 hours long) oh about 18 months ago.... Absolutely no problem whatsoever, recommended many friends to go, the ones that do go all stop smoking. The ones that won't go are to scared to as they know they will "give up" [although as you know there is nothing to give up]. The course is fantastic, you can even smoke during it !! I took 20 Benson & Hedges with me and ran out, which was fine as the lecturer gave me another 10 to get by. If anyone wants to stop, go on the course you will. There are a dozen or so plces in the UK that do it. Cost's about £170 money back if you fail ! "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

How many of you DON'T wear altimeters?
Plummets replied to dkf1979's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Alti and Pro trak. On my second consolidation jump after AFF i checked my alti and thought I must be getting better and relaxing more as had been in freefall ages and still read 11K, had a double take the third time it still said 11K . I still remember taking a while thinking thats strange and looking down seeing the pond on the golf course a whole lot bigger than normal . Deployed straight away which jolted alti back into life, in the saddle at 2K. (instead of the 4.5K planned) I then changed my internal mantra from "check alti" to "check alti - read it". I would think the project would need a minimum of a year for detail design and construction. This depends on how much upfront work has been done, whether sub-contract tendering has taken place so that when funds are in place contracts can be immediately placed (for the steel frame and cladding for instance) If the August 2004 is realistic the Bedford tunnel will open first. I'll be there in 5 days, forecast wind at 9mph from the North on 23rd , moving around to the South at 3mph on 25th

No probs kissing smokers, I quite like it !, Stopped smoking over a year ago using Allen Carr easyway, no problem. Interesting side affects of stopping smoking, increase in speed (protrak max @ 175mph flat !! ) and I don't need to downsize canopy just increasing weight hence wingload "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

Crosswind video/DVD vs Good Stuff Video/DVD

Its the good stuff for me. Definately more Wuffo friendly as well, they love the skysurfing and the cars. "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother" -
Calling UK - newbie needs help!
Plummets replied to purplekittenUK's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Sebastian is great, I did my AFF and 10 consolidations there. I did have some trouble returning to the UK where some DZs obviously had their heads stuck up their arses and weren't interested in letting me jump. Dave Emmerson at Hinton was cool about it though. Definitely worth considering Empuria though, you'll get your jumps on video for free (extra at Seb) and if you don't get through it in time you can always pop back on Ryanair for about £15. Anyone arriving from stansted / girona first flight on 23rd dec (or returning 29th last flight ) and want free ride send me a PM, i'll have a car. "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

Thanks, finally managed to order one through the link.... all you need is one hour....patience while the shopping basket crashes several times...and a fluent french speaker by your side who is incandescent with rage and shouting something about empty "vidis" to the computer. Look forward to seeing it when it arrives "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

Thanks, got the link to open... now if only I could understand the order form .... "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

Does such a thing exist ?? if so where can I get it. There was a link to the French site in an old post but it doesn't work What other good skydiving DVDs are out there ? "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

Now you've got to remember we dreamt this up after a good gallon of beer while watching "The Good Stuff" in a pub will some horsey people. Simply replace the car with "diving horse" and the driver with errrm a "skyjockey" and steer to large swimmingpool, cut away horses canopy at 10 feet (having remembered to disconect RSL) and you have a skydiving horse. Might not be politically correct but would damn good footage ! Does anyone have a horse I could borrow for a few days ? "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

Thanks AggieDave have emailed Karen and will sort out suit shortly ! Have booked some freefly coaching with Babylon (empuria spain) in September, now should I take all the coaching in one hit or do one coaching jump then practice a few times solo before next coaching ?? Hey you too, I'm thinking of taking them up on their offers, with the number of extra inches i've been spammed I'm sure I'm up to jumping altitude "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

I think I'm going to enjoy freeflying more than I thought "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

Thanks all, looks like a big baggy heavy cotton suit for me and plenty of coaching - I am going freefly

6'1" and err.. about 240 lbs, 'loose head prop' build if that helps (thats something to do with rugby for the Yanks) "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

As a newbie 40ish jumps i Can't really see the interest in RW, although as I fall at 160 belly flying there may be an issue with people keeping up anyway!!!!. Level 5 - 7 AFF instructor (with 20 lbs) was just sitting infront of me smiling, too cool. will additional the speed make learning to freefly more difficult ?? First couple of attempts sitflying last week at Empuria were interesting to say the least. thinks "This is easy" followed 0.5 sec later "Oh shit, WTF happened then". Repeated several times ! "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

"Captain Pugwash"and "The Magic Roundabout" Ermintrude rocks !! "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

Yup, bring your rig, there are plenty of good DZ's around, UKs a small place, nothings more than a few hours away. Prices well about £17, weather will be cold !! If bad jump on a plane to Spain (Empruviabrava) it rocks ! "Life is a bowl of deadly nightshade, stay way way out on the rim brother"

hi. thinking about diving... tandem or..?
Plummets replied to chumps's topic in Introductions and Greets
Steve, get straight in with the AFF.... you usually wont need to pay for the whole course upfront but can do it on a level by level basis..(in the very unlikely event you don't like it, well sorry, blame me) ,,the first one though is the most expensive !!!, the money left at the end (from not doing tandem) = more jumps.
