Thats the whole point, you get banned for breaking rules not for the way you share your Ideas. People do infact get banned for things other than rule breaking here that is the problem? "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

No not really....We use these sites to share information. That has been made more difficult because some really experienced BASE jumpers have been banned from this forum. I'm not alone in wanting there opinions, so to get that now I have to go to another forum. People don't seem to have a problem with mentioning blinc or the aussies site, so whats another forum? 7. BASE jumping and Tattoos are both very personal. To some people you'll never be able to justify either. I like it, but then again I have a spatula tattooed on my arm, go figure. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

  10. Tired of DZ politics and drama? Then jump with these guys! This isn't your typical DZ, its more like a group of friends that are doing what they love and letting everyone participate. They are well trained and very professional. For you BASE jumpers vacationing in twin falls, now your significant other can get some excitement out of the trip as well (take them for a tandem). I can't even begin to explain the benefit of have a full service rigging loft in the area. If it wasn't for Splatula rigging quick service I'd have been left with only one rig and would have done half the jumps on this trip. What a great location for a DZ, just a few minutes away from the bridge. Nothing like having a huck and swoop day!
  11. I'm sorry I obviously hurt your feeling, but seriously are you going to quit bitching like a little girl and maybe somewhere in you post answer the questions I presented. If not your really no use to this discussion. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  12. I can respect that. A jump that takes some work to get to, is more challenging in every respect has more to offer in terms of experience as far as I am concerned. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  13. You are correct BASE is BASE theres a level of danger to it all, thanks for stating the obvious. Don't you think there are more fatalities at legal sites because more people do more jumps at legal sites these days? You live in Hunington beach what are jumping thats legal there pal? I was simply wanting to get some input on whether or not people feel the corporate knowledge the old timers have is being pasted along, and if the new era of jumpers are learning those skills. 14. I beleive the only place BASE is still a crime is in the NPs every other building antenna span or earth I jumped must therefore just have been training for that one jump. Well then maybe you should sit this conversation out. Unless you can see the meaning of the post , then join in when you feel capable. Your assuming I haven't. Isn't that why we do these things? (BASE I mean) "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  15. I was bored, the wind is kickin these days so Im stuck on the net! I know that some of you don't care about jump numbers or keep track of them (yada yada I do it for me yada yada it’s all about having fun yada fuckin yada). So stop reading and move on. For those of you that do... read on. I log everything PG hours/flts, skydives, BASE, days skied this season, and I journal about all kinds of stuff. I have a need to keep track if for no other reason than to reflect on it at a later time. So now to the reason for the post: It is obvious that the average jump numbers per jumper have increased since "the old days", mainly because of legal access to sites (among other things). Now that there are more than several people with a thousand jumps and even more people with 500+, I can't help but think that the majority of those jumps are legal. I could be wrong (that happens often), but what if you didn't count your legal jumps. Would that cut your BASE experience in half? I'd bet probably more. It sure does with mine, only a third of my jumps are illegal. I’m just curious about those teaching BASE if there experience is less than half maybe these busts lately are because of the lack of knowledge (ninja skills) being passed down (or the participants were just stupid). So the question is “Are we losing the skills needed to pull off such jumps?” I would be impressed if someone actually had more illegal jumps than legal, but still had high jump numbers(say around 3 to 4 hundred) I also realize that one can participate in BASE and do nothing but legal jumps (as lame as that sounds to me), it is possible. That’s not what I'm talking about. Before some one says it. Yes all jumps add to your experience I know, but legal jumps are just for practicing your BASE skills without the pressure of getting caught (right?). If legal BASE was that exciting we would all live in Norway, but I don't think that is why some of us do it. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

    What A Night

Sweeeet...congrats on the jumps. To me thats what BASE is all about. The combination of all those things that make an epic jump. Thats as good as it gets for me. When you work out all the problems presented and pull it off. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  21. I made unfair assumptions Tom A. and I want to publicly apologize. Moving on....... This post was started I believe questioning how likely it is that someone starts BASE without skydiving first. No one has really answered this question. Who are the people that see the most newcomers? Manufacturers? mentors? So how many students are you taking on that do not have skydiving experience? I would guess this is rare, I would also guess it is even more rare for those people to not skydive at some point. It seems there are several groups of people that are getting into BASE these days. 1. Those with varying degrees of skydiving experience. There seems to be a generic consensus that this is the best way to prepare for BASE (because of obvious similarities). 2. Those who have skills that might prove beneficial to BASE jumping (but who have no skydiving experience). This group for whatever reason feels capable of learning the skills needed to BASE jump in the BASE environment. 3. Those who have no skills that carryover to BASE jumping. Hard to imagine this group even existing. I can think of only one instance, so maybe this should be thrown out as a group and recognized as an anomaly. How is this information useful? What will this tell us? What can we learn from it? I have more questions than answers. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

  23. Oh wait...thats a personal attack. Sorry, I apologize and I take that back. Not quit as subtle but it worked for you, lets see if Tom bans me or both of us. It'll probably be just me since I'm sure he might know you and might share your point of view. 24. I agree that paragliding does nothing to prepare you for opening shock. I also agree that "understanding your opening is a survival skill in BASE". That skill can be acquired on none terminal jumps were heading performance is not a big safety factor (TF for example). I don't mean to belittle skydivers who learned to BASE jump (thats the route I took). Nor detract from the serious risk of jumping. What Im trying to say is that there are others who adapt just as well to BASE that are not skydivers. Never said its the route option I would take or recommend, simply stating that it is done. Im sure it will continue. Im sorry pope and TVPB if this somehow makes you feel a little less special (rest assured you are special). You might want to consider that sometimes your experience is only useful to you, and that your way is not the only way. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  25. I agree that a terminal cliff would be poor choice for those people. However it doesn't pay to be a skydiver until you reach terminal. You don't get allot of dead air exits in skydiving (unless you jump allot of balloons). Such a person could go their whole base jumping careers and never do a terminal anything. After enough well excuted PCAs, they might go handheld and work there way to longer delays. Is that not what skydivers do? Hey why bother skydiving (you could get hurt before you actually BASE jump) just go to the tunnel. That would takecare of the body awareness stuff. Now just sit back and wait for a flood of paragliding tunnel rats! "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
