If you want 'travel' insurance, I have found: Columbus no longer offer the same package that they used to...check any policy very carefully before getting it...as some only let you do like one skydive....which just ain't enough!!! I found that AXA (online only) policy is the cheapest for a year and Endsleigh is cheapest if you just want holiday insurance (you need extreme sport policy) Let me know if you find anything else...I'm always on the look out for the best deal
-
Yep...i have done some research and AXA is coming out tops...(as far as multi trip goes) Basically...Endsleigh insurance is good but only for single trip (fully comprehensive covering skydiving). For multiple trips however it came out with some ridiculous amount of money....Like £580 hahah It pays to check all the details of the insurance though...i.e. what amount of money do you get (i.e.personal accident cover)
-
It appears that Columbus (at that level 4 thing) only covers 2 jumps.....Not much use for a 'skydiver' !!
-
You could also try Endsleigh Insurance And take the policy that covers extreme sports (I think you have to name the sport but it covers unlimited no. of jumps)

In incidents skydive84 says he packed 'his rig' on the wednesday... But I'm only going on what I read here...
-
It was the collegiate nationals...so I guess they were all staying at the DZ that week...in tents.....etc. A communal area (locked at night) would have been where they all left their rigs..... I'd have put mine in there if it was me...without thinking about it
-
if only.... And the 'celebs' don't get any better in the next program....
-
There's just one more show....it's on in 4 weeks I think... Yeah...they like circled at 5 grand whilst filming then went up to 12 to jump... they filmed for about 2/3hrs (by which time 3 of the 'celebs' have jumped)then land and go again with the other three. The 'household names' were much though eh!!

Yeah, it's strange... I had one of those myself recently: a freefall right into the ground (a runway, actually), got up and started *teaching* other people how to do it (is there an instructor rating for this?) I guess just because you're dead doesn't mean the dream's over, so you gotta invent something to keep the story going. So true!! It's just the dream not wanting to end. Let me know when you get that instructor rating (it could be the next dream!)
-
It's wierd how many people seem to have dreams where they land with no parachute then actually just pick themselves up and walk away These kinda dreams still scare me though....
-
That is totally mad (in a good way )!! I'm a great believer in fate....so there must have been somthin tellin ya to quit and go skydiving.... Been jumpin in the uk yet? Don't work too hard!
-
Hey Jo, Yeah I have a few dreams....they used to be more like nightmares (like skydiving but having no rig on and trying to land on my feet) but recently they've been getting less scary...which is good cos I'm always thinking things in my dreams are premonitions... M-C x

For me I feel pressure from my family even if they don't outrightly express it....I know they worry every day I'm jumping. The problem is that acccidents do happen and we just hope we are safe and sensible enough for it not to happen to us. But hey, we also hope that we're not the one that contracts an illness....Or has a driving accident. But it does happen to someone... I know my family worry and I totally appreciate the fact that they have never asked me to stop, despite knowing people who have died skydiving I would not stop jumping though and if I could speak to those who are no longer here I'm sure they'd want me to keep jumpin

Hi, I think the place must have changed a lot since I was there (8 yrs ago!)...and I only went to Swakopmund once but I don't remember a dz... Sounds cool!! Not sure when I'll make it but it's good to know it's there...
-
Hey, I lived in Namibia for a year... a long time ago...where do you jump out there? I had contemplated going to a dz whilst out there... but the only place was in Tsumeb...and I hadn't heard great things!! I'd love to go back some time...and it would be even greater if I could jump too!!
