    Why wouldn’t I? To my recollection it was the Democrats clamoring for an end to the filibuster the Republicans never had.

    So why did hurricane season fall within historical ranges? Al Gore told us we would have more hurricanes not the same amount.

    If Trump removes support from Ukraine it would fall to Germany, France, GB, Poland, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Belgium and Spain, to step up and fill the gap. Russia is spent, its military is in tatters, its economy is in shambles and it is in a demographic death spiral. Russia is weak and getting weaker, it is no longer the big bad Bear of the Soviet Union.

    And how does that hand Ukraine to Russia? The EU vs Russia is not even a contest. Population, GDP, and military capabilities of the EU/NATO dwarf those of Russia. Europe can step up and support the largest country in Europe (not named Russia) without our help. (personally I support US aid for Ukraine and I hope Biden expedites delivery of the multi billion dollar aid package and relaxes restrictions on the use of American weapons. Given who the President Elect is I don’t think there is a risk of escalation from Putin)

    And how will Trump do that? The most he can do is stop arming Ukraine, then it would be up to European countries to fill the gap.

    The Europeans need to increase their investment in defense. If not spending money on Russian lessons might be a good plan B.

    There was a lot of bellyaching about the filibuster when the Ds had control of the Senate. What do you guys think about it now? (You can breathe easy, McConnell said the Rs would respect the role of the minority and keep it in place)
