Slowest start to Atlantic hurricane season…
brenthutch replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
No we have had a below average to the middle of hurricane season, your only hope is that we have an above average late season -
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/10/01/tesla-ev-fire-flooding/75468212007/ “The homeowners told Reuters they were asleep when two of their grandchildren heard strange popping noises and woke up the elders to determine when the sound was coming from. The family ran downstairs and were shocked to see their vehicle on fire, forcing them to flee into the street. The blaze engulfed the car and garage in under a minute, Reuters reported.” Those EV fires are particularly fierce.

Slowest start to Atlantic hurricane season…

Nothing that can happen, changes the fact that we had an abnormally slow start to hurricane season. With “climate expert” Michael Mann predicting more than thirty named storms we still have quite a way to go. -

Funny how my brother, who lives in Orlando, and I were just having that conversation yesterday my vicious little friend. -
Looks like EVs and water don’t mix

To keep Michigan in play he would have to cease support of Israel.
-
No not at all. I said the conflict would split the D’s along the pro-Palestinian vs pro-Israeli fault line, especially in Michigan. Someone discounted that notion and said it would be resolved in a few weeks. Looks like I was right and the other hapless Muldoon was wrong
-
How many of those were from the IRA?
-
The Israeli/Gaza conflict would be over in a few weeks, long before Election Day? Some say, the support of the Israeli terror state by the current regime threatens to put the Arab vote in Michigan at risk increasing the possibility of another Trump presidency. What say you?

You’ve got me there however in my defense I did not predict a massive underwater volcano eruption blowing millions of tons of water vapor into the atmosphere. We will just have to wait and see if the temperature continues to increase in response to CO2 and post ice age natural warming or if it comes back down as a result of water vapor precipitating out.

Wrong program, that was the bipartisan infrastructure act not the ironically named Inflation Reduction Act. Try again, D’oh! Indeed
-
Done, I say there will not be the 5000 charging stations paid for by the IRA.
-
More than you can afford son.
-
Spent by The Federal Government. Currently, the $7,000,000,000 spent by the federal government is languishing in State coffers where is will be whittled away by bureaucrats and cronies.
-
What is painful is, they won’t be.
-
I maintain the Federal Government has spent more than $7,000,000,000 for charging stations and from what I have read, only eight charging stations have been built. If the money was sent to the states, it has still been spent by the federal government. One official said it was taking so long because it had to comply with DEI guidelines, environmental impact assessments, prevailing wage requirements, feasibility studies and a host of additional regulations and requirements. The seven billion + allocated by the IRA was expected to create 5000 stations, I would be surprised to see half of that amount. The rest will be gobbled up by bureaucrats, red tape and kickbacks to cronies.
-
“Twelve additional states have awarded contracts for constructing the charging stations” Done
-
Until you can prove otherwise I’m going with $7,000,000,000

I never voted for him, I wrote in Mickey Mouse, because I thought a cartoon rodent would do a better job. I did say the economy was good/great, pre-pandemic. Low unemployment, low inflation, low interest rates, low gasoline prices. I’ll take that regardless of who occupies the WH. Given Harris’s tax and spend policies I doubt it will be her.
