  6. Since we all know that this is the truth, I was wondering who would be interested in buying a bumper sticker for $3 that said: SKYDIVERS MAKE GREAT LOVERS???
  7. So, I drive to the the DZ on sunday to do my first Hop-n-Pop. On the way up I look out the window and see some people crowded around what looked like a persoen who landed in the corn field and they were helping him untangle the chute. I didnt think much of it, I have landed in a corn field before and it sucks getting it undone. Well, I land and everything goes fine for me. As I 'm walking back I see an ambulance pulling up and heading for that person in the corn field. My girlfriend comes up to me and tells me that she saw it happen. Apparently the person was spinning out of control and at about 1,500 ft. he cut away and pulled his reserve and it didnt open in time. Since she is a Whuffo I dont know if that info is accurate. Does anyone know anything else about it? My prayers are with him and his family.

    hookturns?

What you can do is once your chute is open pull down on one of the toggles all the way and hold on for the ride. It is almost the same thing just not close to the ground. Not suggested to try this under 2 grand though. When I started my AFP program they called this a red zone turn. HAVE FUN!!!!!
  9. I experienced my first scare this weekend. I was doing level 7 of the AFP, and I was coming in for my landing when I thought I was lower than I actually was. So, my jumpmaster is telling me to turn left turn left turn left. I turned enough to get cross wind and pick up a lot of speed. When I flared it didnt do to much for me. I tried to run it out but my legs can't move that fast. I got one foot on the ground and fell over on my side and slid on the ground for about 20 feet, smiling the entire way. Although I could have been seriously hurt I did the right thing by falling on my side and walked away with a smile, and both legs still intact. Unfortunatly there was a girl who wasn't so lucky that same day. She had a malfunction and tried to fix it the entire way down. She never cut away to pull her reserve, she just bounced. She will be okay. She was sitting up and she know what day it was. Light it up and pass it to the left!!!

I have had a cast on my left arm/thumb for the past 6 weeks. I finally got it off yesterday. I am pumped about this weekend. I hope to complete at least two levels.

  12. I was warned about landing in a farm and possible getting porked by the local donkeys in my first jump class. Then when under my canopy I tried to land there. I was feeling horny.
  13. Well what do you expect, you found a burn in my 3 month old car!!!!!!
