Ill have to agree this is quite an interesting post. I am not sure exactly however what you are asking or stating, so ill just state my opinion on UK, and US music. Of course there are similarities and also many differences. I will say that there are numerous numbers back then and today that are stilled played all over the US. Radiohead, my personal fave, is making a come back and many of their tunes are played on Mtv (the most popular music channel in the states), radio, and are popular for remake in techno. Cold play is another great band that is highly popular in the US. The smiths, The cult, the ramones, all are still played over here. They may not be as popular today as artists such as eminem, mainly because Rap has become so popular. However, many UK tunes I have found to be featured in video games. Skateboarding, Bmxing, and such....the uk pumps out great tunes. Many of the mixed Cds over hear contain numerous tracks of UK music. I enjoy it immensely. The sound is a bit more drawn out, but the lyrical content is a tad more real.
