speaking of Jesus...when I was learning to fly ultralights, my instructor ask me nicely to stop saying "God Damit!" when I would make a mistake, he then explained how he had been "saved." He said he believed in our savior Jesus Christ. I told him I believe in my savior, PD reserve parachutes...he spent the next minute cracking up between giving me flight instruction.

oh yeah, right. i love it when some group of un-employed nit-pickers get to tell me what i can and cant do with MY property. i own five houses, and will never, ever, own an HOA property. when given even the smallest amount of authority, these groups go ape-shi* on you. just my 2 cents. many of my clients own HOA's, and they hate it. cant park here, cant have this sticker on there car, gotta rake the leaves..., not for me. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him? -
i used to work in a autoshop, and at night to secure the vehicles, we would use jacks and rollers to lift and move the cars in the garage so tight, you couldn't get a piece of paper between them. lets just start moving the cars. i have actually used a set of chains, the hooks on my bumper, and my jeep to drag a car out of the way so that one of our show rigs could get out...fuck-em, if they cant drive, they shouldnt mind some damage to their car. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

totally agree. when i was back in college, riding my $700 motorcycle, happy to have a full tank of gas and $20 to buy beer that night...life was without stress. and that is what skydiving is to me...no stress. do i accept death or injury in this arena without stress...i guess so...its better than getting cancer, shot by some meth-head, or run over by someone rushing under stress to their stressful cubical job to pay for a life they really don't want...know what i mean? ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

lets see, i have worked as an electrical superintendent on public works projects, in silicon valley in a cube, coordinated movie sets, managed mobile promotional tours across the country, built houses...all stressful, and i feel have taken their toll on my life expectancy. now, i am a skydiver and a pool serviceman...i feel my heart beating better everyday.

Well, since I went to, and partied at, (oh, graduated too) one of Playboy's #1 party schools in America...Cal State Univ. Chico...I must chime in on this one. Ok, what worked for me was the biggest, greasiest, bacon cheese burger and fries you can find, like a local shop, not some fast food, then, sleep for 2.5 hours...it will all be good. Or, do what I use to do...never sober up! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

I'm really very sorry for your loss - wish I knew what to say. I'm sorry this thread forced you to think back to that I'll think long and hard before I post something of a serious nature again. On a different note, the fact that the dogs were howling at that precise moment makes me wonder...kinda creepy. well, I centainly went through the mental stages. but then when I would get really upset or feel sorry for myself...I thought of her, and how strong she was to face certain death, and accept it gracefully. Death is a thing we all must deal with, go through, experience...and the older you get, the more people that you know will pass on. The hard ones are the good ones that go before their time, and leave behind on this world the ones that squander life. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

I have had someone die in my arms. My first wife, she had CF (cystic fibrosis), and when it was her time to go, she decided that it was, I was with her. The last few hours were sleep, then she did not wake up. But basically, her last breath out was long, her chest sank, and you could feel the energy leave the body, (like a reactor being shut down, a flame extinguished. she went limp, and the body looses control of bodily functions..ie. you pee and/or poop...then the body cools...seemed rapidly to me. And at the time she died, a bunch of dogs outside started howling...I feel they felt the energy shift. It was the hardest moment of my life. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

I have said for years that we can put a man on the moon, (39 years ago), and lander on Mars, but we still cant get good cell phone coverage, which is actaully a profitable business, unlike space travel. hmmm to the "I dont want to give in to technology" people in this thread...please stop wearing your seatbelts, turn off your airbag, disable your ABS, and loosen up your modern suspension...after all, you should be able to handle a car emergency without this stuff. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him? -
Long Beach has been going back and forth between West and East Traffic all day. One one flight, took off on 7R, and by the time we got back they had switched to 25L. just watch the weather channel forecast...up to 70 mph in San Diego...yikes! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
