  1. I have a '93. I went for a ride on one in 85...and had to have one some day. Ok, so there are lots of web sites out there regarding the Vmax wobble you might get at around 85 mph or so. Some suggest an adjustment on the neck tourqe..."furbur" fix. I put a drag bars on mine, with a very slight angle in them...the problem went away, and the I like the ridding position better. I have been told it was the length of the original bars, length of moment force, excetra. now, you will notice that the frame on the right side is bolted together...this is because the frame is from a small bike, and yamaha had to cut the frame to mount the massive engine. this will cause frame flex under power....careful. i painted the skins on mine flat black...the true color of raw power. just google for more...these are cult bikes, and i love mine...and love to smoke HDs all day. these bikes are not really that "practical"...but neither is skydiving! congrats. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

  6. just jumped elsinore today, forgot to check my account...did not even notice. regarding better facilites...both have good otters, elsinore has grass, perris....lots of dirt. both have nasty bathrooms. my wife and i both got sick from food at Perris. and too many close calls with different style of canopy pilots, do I dare say swoopers? so, we pack our own lunch and jump Elsinore. Anyway, what the "average" skydiver jump a year? 100, maybe 200? so thats $200 to $400 a year extra...no difference to me. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  7. so is divorce to be expected?....bullshit! in my view. i am on a second marriage, but, the first ended in the "till death do us part" lack of option. i am so tired of people getting married, then getting divorced do to lack of trying. dont mind me...i have had a few tonight. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

  10. Funny thing is that Skyride already did that. They called it the National Skydiving association. The insurance is the key. That is why we are currently locked into the USPA. Without that insurance, You can forget about Jumping at the vast majority of Dropzones in the US. Joining the USPA is the only way to get that insurance. i did not know that. but, that makes sense. it always seems to come down to insurance in so many cases of starting a new business, organization, or group. i know this first hand, being self employed and insured. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  11. I do. How bout we start another "USPA?" Maybe, USSA...(U.S. Skydivers Association). There have been different scuba associations. We just have to from a non profit org, write up some bylaws, and screen board members for skyride connections. Oh, and fill the cooler with beer. You know, I am just about half serious on this...out with the old, in with the new! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

I met my dog of 15 years the sort of the same way. He ran up to me at an outdoor market, sat down, and smiled at me. My wife said, "he just picked you." Just then two women came running up. They were adopting out pets from the shelter, and he "Clyde" had escaped from their booth. (his sister "Bonnie" was at the shelter too) I said, "he's coming with me'" they said "sign here, thanks!" He was such a great dog, 3 days later we went back for his sister, but somebody else had got her...I think it was the feds. So there you go...I think you have a....."Bonnie" Clyde is now deaf, slowed down to a slow walk, but every morning nibbles at my wife's feet as she walks down the hallway...been the greatest friend I have ever had.

  14. little name tags and conservative haircuts? Yeah, we take that form for two years, but after our metamorphosis is complete, like Bozo said, you have to look under the hair for horns to tell em apart.... i can see it now..."The First Boggie of Latter Day Jumpers!" yes yes, I am joking, as in humor. After all, I was raised catholic...look at the crap those priests have pulled! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  15. Inflation Which is cause by having medical insurance in the first place. Prior to medical insurance, doctor visits and care was more reasonalbly priced. Every field in which insurance has been added has seen major increase in pricing. Watch, vet cost for dogs and will increase drastically when pet insurance becomes the norm. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

  20. It happened to me after I went to the Bahamas on our honeymoon....rented a scooter, used the card. Got a $2400 bill later for AOL internet calls. Lesson learned, I know change my credit card numbers on a regular schedule. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  21. Neighbor across the street has an inflatable Santa. He leaves it turned off during the day, so it looks like Santa had a terrible skydiving accident. Go put a rig on santa, and stretch out the reserve, slider half down...take video, and go on a media tour. doooh! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  22. yeah, I hear ya...I grew up in the SF bay area, and how I landed here, I have no idea. But, its basically a little over an hour to snow, beach, skydiving, and its an great place to go out and fly my ultralight really low and chase jack rabbits! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

  24. Sounds like this is a money question, and not a enviromental one. The way I have always kept driving more economical is to buy used cars. I mean really "used," like not running, or damaged. Nothing like getting a car for next to nothing, putting some good old elbow grease into it, and have a fine running car for less than a couple of months payments of my buddies shinny new truck, that he puts a dent it the first week on the job! Learning how to work on your own car is worth its weight in gold. Like today, I am replacing the wheel cylinder on my old jeep...it will take me 1 hour, parts were $20....a garage would easily charge me $250. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  25. I disagree with you. These 2 reserve rides happened on two different rigs, both packed by packers, and once on the ground, the pilot was packed (stuffed) incorrectly in BOTH cases, making for a very tough pull, if any at all. Our decesion altitude is 2000, as taught in AFF. It was at this altitude that she made her decision to go to reserve, after giving the main several pulls, checking to make sure it was not just a hard pull, again as taught in AFF. Reserves are designed to open in 300 to 500 ft. I dont follow how you think this is denial, or are you saying she was instructed incorrectly at one of the bigger DZs in the country? Really, I am curious. I dont live in denial, neither does she...your mistaked in your JUDGEMENT of us. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
