Really depends on what entity is doing the background check. The DOJ does it for contractors and realtors, and with me it took 5 weeks. My wife on the other hand had to go through a "check by name" since her fingerprints would not register on the livescan...it would score her between 0 and 10 out of 100! this...is spike. and, crazy as it sounds...he is the most self realized dog i have ever encountered. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

got a good story for you. so we are out walking the dogs, 2 boxers and an old deaf border collie. hiking through our favorite park, the white male boxer walks ahead, and walks up to what i think is a stick in the path. wrong! pacific rattler. spike goes to bite it, he loves sticks, the snake strikes... misses. spike takes a step back, and then the scene goes into matrix mode. the snake is striking...once, twice...three, four, five... spike, is bobing and weaving, ducking and hoping... i, and holding off the other dogs, and commanding spike to "back up" i was sure he was dead, and my mind when into "how to comfort him as he went on to the next life" mode. he backs up...dodging strikes as he does. it was incredible, ...he was one with the force, and managed not to get biten. the rattler slivers off, i check spike...once, twice, three times...no bite marks...i rush him to our vet, just to make sure...no signs of injury. most amazing. so, now, spikes' name has been change to ....
