is that brandon under the pink onyx? congrats thats a sharp looking canopy, if it flies as good as she looks well be seeing alot of them

i dont think this had been mentioned but dont rule out the possibility of opening in the tail end of your track off without decelerating enough before you tossed out. i did this for the first time in eloy a few weeks ago. my audible crapped out and we broke off aroung 4300, not too low but lower than i normaly breakoff in a 3 way. anyway felt a little rushed to throw out after an approprate track time and SLAMMO! didnt full decel before i dumped.

why dont you post your jump numbers?
tattoojeff replied to tattoojeff's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i also dont think its cool to generalize all of you who dont post #. thats why i asked to understand all the different reasons. which there are. i disaagree with ron about all of you thinking your better thAN you actually are. thats bullshit. some probably, most i doubt it, all gimme a break. -
why dont you post your jump numbers?
tattoojeff replied to tattoojeff's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
yeah this has gotten alittle out of control lol. i have some q's for ya WW. for staters youve just said why you dont post jump #'s but right next to your smiling face is your jump #'s. now your saying that number is fake? why bro. ive seen you fly your damn good and if anything i have more resect for your ability knowing the truth about your jump #'s!!!! my purpose of this thread was not about constantly updating your #'s. it was about people leaving it blank. too bad it had to get all heated i think ron thrives on it. -
youve flown sabers or saber 2's? i ve had a couple original sabers and hell yes they slamm the shit out of me.but like i stated saber2 is a completly diff canopy.
-
o yeah. thats trippy, thanks.
-
no its not a saber its a saber 2. they are completly different canopys. they are also NOT known to open hard. ive heard nothing but gtreat things about saber 2's and enjoyed the few jumps ive done on them. so sorry to call you out, but you dont know what your talking about.

not to beat a dead horse here but i cant think of any "orientation" to mount a sign in which east would be west and vise versa. no matter how you hang a sign north is stil north
-
after reading this thread my freinds and i did a triple totem. it was actually pretty easy. thanks for the good idea and yes i have video. i dont have a usb cable unfortunatly. ill try to get help putting the vid up. its inside vid so its not that great. but we did it!!!!
-
good thread but i cant get over the fact that the sign is incorrect!!!!! and even worse that not one jumper there has ever noticed!!!! how long has that sign been posted?
-
that must have been great!! my home dz has gone threw some radical changes the past 2 years since our former dzm quit. the facilitys are nicer than ever but the feeling of home and family have all but vanished.

pj you may want to consider not jumping in high winds. you still very green and those giant rental canopys dont penetrate the winds very well. that being said theres ways to get more penetration using other controls on your canopy namley front risers. i dont want to get to detailed because you should learn this from an instructor at your dz for saftey reasons. but ill say again if your going backwards that a big ole neon sign telling you to stay ground side and live to jump another day.

i couldnt agree more. my first trip to eloy sda was a year ago this month. ive been back 7 times since. i love the people the vibe and the air. i feel very appreciated as a customer there. i almost refer to sda as my home dz. maybe someday it will be.

the only thing that matters is that skydiving improves the quality of your life. not how many jumps you have, or how many ratings youve aquired. sounds to me like youve found a good balance and are happy. does any of that other stuff really matter?

why dont you post your jump numbers?
tattoojeff replied to tattoojeff's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i see the different points of view. but to me it matters. not so much jump numbers alone but more jump #'s vs. time in sport. not entering jumps defeats the purpose of trying to be taken seriously to me. im a lot more skeptical of someones advice with no # entered than someone with a few hundred jumps. at least i know they have a few hundred and arent hiding there history.i have also seen some shit hot flyers with low #'s so i dont look down on advice given from low # jumpers, especialy if there jumps were in close succesion. but to each his own. blue skies -

Do you open and repack your rig off-dz?
tattoojeff replied to skydivingdutch's topic in Gear and Rigging
yes definatly. when im bored on rainy days which we have a shit load here in portland or. i try different ways of packing i learn here on the forums. call me weird but i pride myself on perfect on head openings and have gottem them to be a regular occurence. i actualy like packing and when not jumping any contact with my gear or the sport helps me get threw the down time. not only does it make me a faster better packer, it keeps my gear in tip top shape and makes me safer and more knowledgable. basicly i love this sport more with every waking day. and thank god im able to be a skydiver. -

why dont you post your jump numbers?
tattoojeff replied to tattoojeff's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
this q's is for those who dont post there number of jumps. out of curiosity, what are your reasons. i see alot of " never enough" or just leaving that slot blank. why fill out time in sport, lisc, ext. and not jump numbers. i dont know why it bothers me i guess it just does. -
is that Gillian in the white and orange? i cant believe how good that gal is under 1000 jumps. i got to do some jumps with her in eloy last week. shes damn good. not too hard on the eyes either. lol
