Marc, Talk to Carrie, she had some done this spring. Ira

Hmm.. It was Hawk or something like that. Which actor - Jan Michael Vincent or Ernie Borgnine? edit for spelling. Stringfellow Hawke and Dominic Santini (hence Santini Air :) always called him String. "Hey String we aren't going to fly through all 400 of those Air to Air missles again without a scratch are we?" Loved that show

It was also pretty cool looking over my shoulder in the pattern to see someone under canopy with this big yellow tube flying from their foot. Thanks for the jump Marc, even though I pooched the exit it was still a blast. Ira

The non-rainy weather forecast for tomorrow. The phone call from my 3 year old Niece who asked if Uncle I could come over to play. Being asked to jump with people who are far above my skill level but willing to help a newbie learn. Today being payday with the first new check after a raise

Tomorrow?? See us all on Monday after a fun exciting blue sky weekend... Come on you gotta throw out the positive weather vibes for the weekend.

Dave, Don't keep us in suspense, what book are ya reading????

I'm not asking you to feel bad for their chosen profession. I am telling you to respect what they willing put themselves through every day. People tend to think police have an easy job of driving around in a car eating donuts.... the basic hollywood barney fife sterotype. I am saying don't believe it.

Up Front, I am biased. My father was a policeman for years. So I lean far more towards the side of the police and making sure they are OK. Excessive Force. Yes. Multiple shots was definitely overkill. Justified/Unjustified. I don't think we can tell from the video. You pull a guy over that you have been chasing with 3 police cars. Then the guy gets out and starts walking away then makes a pointing gesture at one policeman while holding something in his hand on a dark night? Why didn't the guy listen to the police? Did the policeman truly fear for his life or the life of his fellow officer? Without being there, we can't know. So please don't start bashing the police, they have a sh*tty job. You never want them around until the crap hits the fan. Most of us dread seeing a police car because it means we just got nailed for speeding. Then if you get robbed or something else, they aren't responding quick enough. A policeman puts his/her life in danger every time they pull someone over. They are never certain that when they walk up to that drivers side door to ask for your license and insurance card that the driver isn't sitting there with a gun. Talk about a stressful job. Sorry for the vent, but I have seen first hand what the stress of being a cop can do to a person and it really isn't pretty.

O I am pissed. The book I am reading now was bound wrong at the dang publishers. It is missing a group of 10 pages right in the middle. Wouldn't you know it, One page says something like Target in sight..... then they are on to something completely different. I got to thinking the author had really lost his train of thougt when I looked up and crap 161 doesn't come after 140. Sh*t Sh*t Sh*t.... I hate it when this happens.

3 words for you: Betty Ford Clinic

Larry Niven also wrote two good ones with Jerry Pournelle and Steven Barnes called The Legacy of Heorot and Beowulf's Children.

WoooHoooo Good Vibes. Getting new/used gear is fun

Ahh, you can never be book poor. If you don't feel like buying them, take a trip down to the local library. It is quite often closer than the borders/bdalton/waldenbooks that you have to drive to. The worst part about buying all the books is finding a place to store them all.

Jump Jump Jump Jump... sleep, drink a beer, Jump Jump Jump Jump ... sleep, go to that work thingy... Jump jump Jump.... Throw in a trip to Rantoul to jump and see my family(Rantoul natives) and a trip to Moab, Utah via any DZ on the way for a mountainbiking weekend and I am set.

The Hot Zone I believe is by Richard Preston who also wrote a really frightening fiction book on BioWarfare called the Cobra Event. This is one of those books that is so real you wish it wasn't published because you don't want terrorists getting ideas. It was also so good, I couldn't put it down. Ira

Dave, If you like Military Fiction anything by Dale Brown is an awesome read. Check him out at http://www.megafortress.com If you like the Navy and submarines, check out Michael DiMercurio. Great series. www.devilfish.com Another good Naval series is the Amanda Garrett series by James H Cobb, can't find a website. For Military Science Fiction about Marines, try the Starfist series, http://www.novelier.com/starfistmain.html They are a good read and carry the characters through about 6 books. I could go on and on, I'm one of those people who always has to have a book. These might be right up your alley :) Ira
