Call Jack Harrison at Falcon insurance Agency: 800-370-0557. Premiums have come down this year due to new competition he told me when we renewed. If anyone knows who the new player is please post.

That is how we operate, coaches supervise students beyond their first hop n pop. May be a little off topic but each month I notice what seems like hundreds of A licenses issued listed in Parachutist. It seems to me many of these people (especially from small iad /sl dropzones) don't make it to the 100 or 200 jump number in which they can earn a coach or instructor rating. USPA is always pushing for dzs to work on student retention but given the nearly 600 A licenses listed in this month's Parachutist, I think this past season student retention overall was a non issue. USPA needs to do research on why sub 200 jumpers quit the sport hence reducing the pool of people who can earn instructional ratings. Perhaps research is a waste of time, basically other aspects of life: work, family, lack of money, competing activities, fear of an accident drives the exodus from the sport.

At $130 an hour plan on losing money unless you have cheap fuel or $30 jump tickets or are only doing tandems.

Demo or practice demo - Texas speedway

Looked like the planned target with the wind blade there and the canopies of the jumpers right there also. Interesting placement. -
Insurance brokers warning to DZO's/Plane owners
ksjumper replied to PhreeZone's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am certain that USPA began excluding damage to aircraft cause by jumpers quite a few years ago. I beleive just before or after a tail strike on Mullin's king air in the 90's. It is basically only covering damage you might cause to property or person(non-jumper) on the ground. But forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought it also would not pay if the damage was inflicted on another member or his/her property. IE, if you crashed into another member's vehicle, you are not covered. -
Insurance brokers warning to DZO's/Plane owners
ksjumper replied to PhreeZone's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
We are insured by the insurance company listed in Parachutist. Maybe I missed it in the 5 pages of talk in this thread but i don't understanded the blow up because there are clauses that if the damage was cause by the skydiving activity, ie a jumper, the insurance company will not pay(quoting from our insurance policy): "AIRCRAFT PHYSICAL DAMAGE we will not pay for any physical loss of or damage to your aircraft caused by anyone jumping or attempting to jump from your aircraft while the aircraft is in flight or attempting flight." -

Possible Skydiving Reality Show
ksjumper replied to jjrainyday's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I really think a reality show about skydiving would move the sport even further ahead than Point Break did. Who doesn't have jumping on their bucket list and weekly exposure would send people over the edge and go for it. -

I think either way would work. You do tend to develop a liking too or dislike of the people on the shows which is fun and keeps the audience coming back. -
Possible Skydiving Reality Show

It would have to be better than a gunshop building a new gun each week then blowing up a target with explosives everytime they do a reveal. I think Skydive Chicago would be the better place to follow. -
I should have saw that coming.

He must have taken it down. I still like saying, "That was high speed!!" every so often.

Demo jump: Timing of music with landing?
ksjumper replied to JohnRich's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I thnk singers tend to stretch it out while a band can play it in 1:15. A back up plan if they finish really early is to play patriotic music to bridge the gap.
