We ended up flying 47 caravan loads with over 100 registered jumpers and about 30 C-182 hop&pop loads for those on a budget. If I would have known you all were coming I would have ordered more shitters!! Anyway, Thanks everyone. See you in Wichita at the All Kansas Cessna Boogie in October. Blue Skies, Jesse M.

  10. Ok Peeps. Ya'll should plan on coming out FRIDAY evening if you want to sneak a jump in. The Caravan should be on the field in time for a few loads before sunset, perhaps earlier, you never know. We'll be there setting up mid afternoon and will be registering folks as they arrive. We've got beer in the kegerator and I've got a room at the Simmer Motel for your sat and sun shower. Try to park as tight as you can, I'm thinkin' the place is going to rock! Please ask a staffer where parking is off limits. We've recently acquired a pilot McNasty. Manifest opens at 7:30am Saturday. First load goes up at 8am. Remember, If you made it to the Peggs Boogie in June there's no registration fee. Only $10 if you didn't. Remember- NO TORNADOES!!!!!!!! Jesse

  16. Final Report: Despite a marginal weather forecast that materialized for 3 of the four days of the boogie, we registered over 70 jumpers who managed to fly 27 caravan loads, 24 of which were on Friday. We did plenty of wind assisted ripstick racing down the runway with only one trip to the hospital. We didn't get to organize the women's formation record attempts but managed to set the Kansas POPS formation record with a 3 point 9 way. Way to go guys!! Spirits remained high even though the weather sucked. We still managed to party like rock stars, very much like a mini-couch freaks. We'd like to thank John Hart of Fastrax and Bruce the pilot for allowing us to enjoy the Caravan, even if it was basically for one day. Thanks goes out to all the jumpers who showed up early to make friday the most amazing friday of jumping I've ever seen. Thanks goes out to everybody who helped out to make this boogie possible. Without your support we couldn't have pulled it off. We'll guys and gals, we got the boogie season kicked off. Next stop: LSPC's Redemption Boogie. We'll see you in 6 weeks!! Jesse M.
  17. We'll be having a food concession on site for lunch and late afternoon munchies each day and it will be serving biscuits and gravy for breakfast Sat and sun mornings. The young lady running it is raising money to go on a missionary trip to Thailand this fall. Save yourself a trip to town and a chance at losing your parking spot. I guarantee you'll find something you like to eat at the dropzone!! Jesse
  18. It's basically a skateboard with two caster wheels that is flexible in the middle. Learning is like water skiing at first. the hard part is getting up. Jesse
  19. Yep, he tried to teach me to ride the ripstick but I can't get it. He can do it with cowboy boots!! I think he gets bored during wind holds!! Jesse
  20. What? No mention of boobs in your post? I can't believe you couldn't work that into the conversation about a 200lb hog. Did I mention that we'll be having rip stick races up and down the runway? We'll get to see what pilot Gary is really made of!! jesse
  21. FYI- If you haven't been to our little airport we do not have much for creature comforts, the main thing being potable running water. If you plan on camping and are wondering about taking a shower we have a courtesy suite set up at the Simmer Motel in Wamego for that purpose. Just visit registration to find out about that. Below are the motels within 20 minutes of the airport. Motel listings for Wamego and Manhattan: Wamego- 5 minutes from Airport: Super 8 785-458-8888 Simmer 785-456-2304 Victory B&B 785-456-1393 Eagle View 785-456-8654 Cottage at the Meadows 785-456-8654 East Manhattan- 15 minutes from airport: Super 8 785-537-8468 Motel 6 785-537-7307 Bestwestern 785-537-8300 Hampton Inn 785-539-5000 Comfort Inn 785-770-8000 Fairfield Inn 785-539-5391 Econo Lodge 785-539-5391 Regency 785-537-0630 If you are flying in I recommend you have your own tie down ropes. We should be able to handle a handful of extra planes. Both plane and car parking will be tight. When you drive onto airport property you basically have to cross the north end of the runway. Be sure to watch out for planes landing and taking off. We are working on getting an additional tent for packing but if you have your own set up you use for boogies I'd suggest bringing it. Sorry we don't have extra links set up at our website skydivekstate.com or kansasboogie.com with more pertinent boogie info. Be sure to pass info you see here on to people that don't go to dropzone.com regularly. Thanks, Jesse
  22. For the POPS record my first priority will be to utilized Kansas jumpers and the second will be to sort out the talent. If I can't find enough talent to fill the load with Kansas jumpers then I'll look to non-Kansas Peeps. So far I have a two way for sure. Jesse
