  1. Do to pressure from unnamed sources I'll be organizing a Kansas POPS record attempt at the Boogie. I checked the POPS website and there is no official record listed for Kansas. First thing I have to do is join. I thought some wiseass jumper buddy of mine might have bucked up for a membership for me by now but I guess I'll be doing the honors myself. If you want on, join POPS if you haven't already then e-mail me your intentions and skill set. I guess we'll take up to 13 for the attempt and one cameraman. Jesse
  2. I agree with Jim. Besides, coaches aren't out there doing it on their own, they have to be supervised by an instructor present on the DZ. Coaches aren't expected to swoop down and dock on a student. They are mainly there to observe, perhaps lay base and change fall-rate when needed. My cessna dropzone thrives with coaches and students that get to make multiple jumps in a day and would not exist without coaches(with 100+ jumps). We have licensed 15 people in the last 14 months. That it pretty good for a single cessna dropzone. JM
  3. ***I'll be coming in from sunny Florida for the boogie and get current again I don't have to do a PRCP again now do it haha. reply I'll let you skip the prcp if you install that fan in my computer. The duct tape is still holding on but the fan sweaks a little if I shut my computer off and then start it again. I think it will last a couple more months however!! JM
  4. Somebody scheduled some tandems that day so to ensure everyone gets happy we have a second cessna coming to fly that day. Can you say formation loads!! Perhaps we can pace ourselves into doing some eight-ways later in the day. It would be a nice warm up for the boogie!!
  5. Rumor has it there will be a women's RW record attempt at the boogie. I think they will try to top the MO state record for the chicks. We should have alot of chicks there since "The Legend" will be present. He is a chick magnet you know. JM
  6. Don't forget Jimmy "The midwest freefly legend" will be there!! I'm suprised LJ hasn't started mocking him yet. JM
  7. Hey OZ- I didn't know you needed weights when you are docking last on a 150-way? I guess you never know when they might need to move you to the base. I would check your weights. JM
  8. FYI- 5 second delays are no longer part of USPA's training progression in the ISP but each dropzone still has the option to tailor make their training program I imagine. Good luck on your future skydives! JM
  9. I had a great time and made alot of jumps. I had 31 jump tickets in the raffle but didn't win a thing. However, it seemed like they raffle hundreds of prizes off and tossed 10 times as many out into the crowd. You'd have to have been passed out not to get something free. The only thing missing was Dave S. from skydiveradio.com. I'm going to check with the gennius book of world records about stacking empty kegs of beer. That could be a great event for next year!! JM
  10. Not packed, rig not packed. Just mowed the grass. Couple of other honey-do's left to do. I'll be rolling out in the morning. Bringing my new bicycle- "The Shocker." Vacation started today at 2:30am!! JM
  11. I need the SKYDIVE RADIO gang the have a show soon to help get me pumped about CF's!! I miss my SKYDIVE RADIO!! I miss JIMMY!! JM
  12. Boxers or briefs(on the jump)? Someone had to ask that question. JM
  13. Thank you Frank and all of the LSPC members for hosting another great boogie. Thank you Jimmy for the great weather! See you all at Couch Freaks!! JM
  14. I had the common sense to invite the Legend on a demo last week to ensure good weather. The rain stopped and the clouds parted as we were on jump run. Thanks Jimmy!!! See you at Redemption!! JM
  15. We've got to do a better job of keeping this thread at the top of this forum: WWJD!! (What Would JIMMY Do?) JM
  16. You need to get a hula doll to put on the dashboard of the otter too!! JM
  17. Oh MY!!! Good luck finding one!! I'm looking forward to another great time!! I know Jimmy is too!! JM
  18. Where ever the Midwest Freefly Legend Jimmy Coiner is jumping is the best place to be. JM
  19. I'll be doing the Richard Petty driving experience in May in which I drive 6 laps around the Kansas Speedway! I don't think those will be the Car of Tomorrow for a while. Now they that have raced it, should it be called the Car of Today? JM
  20. Thanks!! That's exactly what I was looking for. Given decent weather(Could be hard to find in the midwest in Sept.) How many days does it take to complete a FS meet? ksjumper
  21. Is there a general competition schedule that they will go by? I can't take 2 weeks off of work for an event(8-way) that will only take a few days to complete. I haven't gone before so I don't know how it is usually run. ksjumper
  22. In my opinion, if they want better attendance at collegiates they need to move it to be held closer to or after Jan. 1st. The average civilian college skydiver has a hard time convincing mom and dad they they need to load up the car on Christmas night and drive across the country to go to a skydiving competition that starts 2 days after X-mas. I had read in some board meeting notes that changing to a later date was considered but it didn't seem to happen this year. It's being held dec 27th to Jan. 1st. I think starting on on the 29th or later would work better. It would give the kids a chance to get the holiday relative work out of the way and perhaps get to florida(or arizona) with a day or two to practice before the meet. I remember when I went to collegiates 16 years ago, we left kansas at 7am on the 26th, drove all day and all night to arrive at the DZ(clewiston) early afternoon on the 27th. We made a couple of jumps then had to attend the competitor's meeting that night. I really would have liked the chance to get a few more jumps under my belt before competition started. Collegiates is a good time and whether you are in a college club or not, you should try to attend/compete. It's cool to hang out with the college crowd. Believe me, I still do. ksjumper Skydive K-State
  23. The legend did make it out on Sunday. Most of the ladies would not leave until he graced them with his pleasure, oh I mean presence. JM
  24. Posted - 25 Sep 2006 : 12:01:25 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, I just wanted to shout out to everyone who attended the Boogie. You all are the ones that made it sucessful and thank you for coming to our little corner of Kansas, despite a bleak weather forecast for Saturday. I felt a very good vibe at the event and a strong sense of community! A special thanks goes out to Art Sherry from the Skydive Store, Isaiah from PD along with Scott Roberts of Team Fasttrax, Jay and Jamie from Sunpath, and Mark from Relative Workshop. Thank you guys for supporting this event, I know there were probably higher profile boogies with turbine A/C you guys could have opted for so that really makes us feel special. You guys Rock!! I think all the dropzones were represented very well with upjumpers. We'll try to get some stats out later but I think we put up over 65 to 70 loads(thank the pilots too!) over the 3 day weekend and had 17 KSUPC Alumni on the DZ at one time or another. So once again, on the behalf of AC/DZ, Skydive Kansas, and KSUPC, thank you for attending the 2nd Annual All Kansas Cessna Boogie at Wamego, Kansas. Blue Skies, Jesse M.
