Cheers folks. I'm getting really close to qualifying. Heres hoping the weather tomorrow is going to be good, and I can get my monthly fix.

I'm really struggling with my jumping. I've now been a student for 2 years and have 26 jumps. 10 round jumps then had to have a lay off due to an operation. I came back after 5 months and coverted to RAPS (static line progession) and every jump has been sucessful. basically I've always had positive reviews in my logbook. My question is really aimed at instructors, as to what advice you would give a student who is really keen but due to work and family commitments can only make it to the DZ once every 4 weeks and weather dependant makes a jump or more. I don't want to be the next super swooper or freefly god, just jump and enjoy the feeling. If a student only turned up as said what advice would you give them?

Just my opinion, (I've a Canon MV550i). As said does seem aim high, and slightly dull but that could be the lighting as I saw a big black cloud in the distance. I noticed the focus was a bit slow when changing from a ground view to canopy, I don't know if this is normal for cameras as mine also has a slight delay. But I liked watching a video of a full jump without any music added, just the real thing, wind, woo's and all. But overall I thought the quality was good, images were clear, Gives me more faith to use mine when I have enough experience.

Combination of Skydiving and paragliding?
neily replied to neily's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Cheers guys, To follow on from this, is there a maximum canopy size/wingloading restriction? Obviously the smaller canopy is classed as high performance. When would a canopy thats "too" big become a problem for the pilot, I'm thinking about skydiving canopies and not paragliding ones. I know there would be issues having a canopy floating around all day at the DZ, what other issues could there be. -
Combination of Skydiving and paragliding?

I'm still a newbie at skydiving and love both the freefall and canopy ride. I've also been looking into paragliding as well. I've been thinking , ( ouch ), would it be possible to jump, freefall and then deploy a canopy that would/could be used to ride the themals and enjoy a good long canopy ride. How ace would that be.. Just a thought.. -
I've had the same e-mail, as have many others, whether they've been in contact with AAD, or posted on DZ.com, and newsgroups etc... I think someones pissed at them, either way its spam in my book and pay no attention to it. There are other threads about this on here are well.

Dont know if you've seen this short discussion... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1065161;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread I've booked 3 x 2.5 minute slots in June with coach, I've only booked 3 slots due to time limits on myself. This works out as 182 euros = approx £120 for 7minutes 30secs.

I'm off to France in June and have booked time in the Aerokart tunnel, so haven't any review yet. I hunted everywhere for info and managed to get a good bit from people who have been. There's a good review here http://www.dirtdive.net/forums.asp?ForumId=8&TopicId=153 Must admit I'm really looking forward to it

I have to think its the donating blood that caused the dizzyness. In the Uk the BPA operations manual Section 11 2.5 Blood Donors. Sport parachutists are advised that parachuting and giving blood are not compatible. Whilst the quantity of blood is quickly replaced after donation, the necessary oxygen retaining qualities required at altitude are not. I've heard this to be 3 to 6 weeks, but can't remember the source.

My DZ still has rounds available for S/L and freefall jumps, I took that option first, not knowing any different at the time , a parachutes a parachute right. Still glad I experienced them, 2200ft S/L jump and 5 sec delay's from 3000ft

Ok, been lurking here for a while and have both learned and dismissed alot of info. Currently have 26 jumps. 10 on rounds about 2 years ago. so eh, hello all.
