  1. absolutly right! I'm new in this sport but when i read the posts here, i have the impression that only very few people lock away their rig on the DZ when they don't use it. I can't understand this at all! Nobody's allowed to touch my rig, except me, my jumpmaster and and my rigger. And when it is not in use, it's locked in a storeroom or in my car. TRUST NO ONE
  2. that is why tuna sandwiches are good for your brain. because of the dolphins.
  3. Who looks similar to you and would be the perfect actor/actress if your life would be portrayed in a movie? For me it would be Klaus Kinski. We look a little bit the same (when i look at the young Klaus Kinski) and i'm also a little bit crazy.
  4. i know exactly what u mean
  5. Yeah, that was 3 years ago. The murderer was sentenced to stay the rest of his life in prison some month ago. Here's a link http://rhein-zeitung.de/on/99/06/23/topnews/fallschirm_mord.html, but it's in german. This happened at Fallschirmsportclub Münster, where also a notorious german politician was member. He committed suicide while skydiving one month ago(see here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=549041#549041)

  10. a gadget like this exists already but i don't know how it's called at the moment. it was developed for people who have to work in a noisy area and looks like a set of headphones. It sends out a frequency which is exactly the opposite of the frequency of the noise. Hm, guess my English is too poor to explain this right.
  11. ...i'm sure cute girls like you are very good at this

  15. Hm, ich bin wirklich sehr überrascht, dass hier offensichtlich so viele Deutsch sprechen. Warum habt ihr Euch für diese Sprache entschieden? Wegen familiärer Wurzeln in Deutschland? Ich dachte immer, dass Deutsch lernen nicht besonders populär wäre. Liebe Grüße, Mike
  16. Here in Germany, one month ago, a famous and notorious politician (Jürgen Möllemann) who was a passionate skydiver with over 800 jumps, committed suicide. He deployed his main in 1200 meter, cut it away and didn't open the reserve, nor did he activate his cypres before. It was the same day when investigations started against him, he's probably responsible for some illegal weapon deals in the early 80s and would have spent the next years in jail. As everybody can imagine, there was a big echo in the german media the last weeks. And it seems to me that they have found a new subject: Skydiving accidents. Even smaller accidents (broken legs etc.) are made up like if there were no other news and are presented on a whole page. But the 12 deadly motorcycle accidents, that also happened in the same period of time seem obviously not to be so spectacular. And this weekend, there was an deadly accident with a tandem. And the newspapers are full again. But instead of giving any useful information (cause for example, they just said: the main didn't deploy) the message of the whole article is about:"Sport for fools with suicidal tendencies" This really makes me angry! Does anyone of you write letters to newspapers to remind them to more neutral journalism? Or is it just a waste of time to argue with whuffos? What do you think?
  17. ok, my 2 cents: i'm german and i have no lookdown attitude to anyone in the U.S. I have some very good friends (most of them are musicians) who are citizens of the United States of America, some of them live here in Munich, and some others, who are spread over the United States. Most of my idols in music, art, sience and humanity are/were citizens of the United States. I'd like to visit the United States soon, because there are so many things that are fascinating me. Most of the movies i'm watching were made in USA. My favourite instrument, a Minimoog Synthesizer from 1974, was made in USA. Please let me asure you, that i have no lookdown attitude, no we-are-better-attitude, no whatever against the people living in the United States. But i do have something against the momentary U.S. administration. And this is a big difference! And i'm sure i'm not alone.
