  1. i try not to do flips, to me it's important to get stable, get the drogue out no posing no showing off just be safe, blue sky sand and sun.
  2. hi here is a question on the vector harness, what is the position of the leg straps and lower connectors, i have seen some harnessing were the leg strap is almost fully extended (avarage size person) and the comfy pads are not touching. personaly i prefer to have the side conectors on the hip and the leg straps and comfy pads that go under the buckles touching. this seams to be the best for me (5ft 2in) regardless of the size of my passengers!. i hope i have described this well enough! any ideas? blue skies blue sky sand and sun.
  3. my two dollers. if it makes skydiving safer use it. if its made by man dont reliey on it. if its used by idoits dont trust it. forget it,s there god gave you two hands and a brain far more complex than a computer chip and far more expensive use them its safer. the cyprus is an aid a back upu a just in case thats all. blue sky sand and sun.
  4. there are several factors involved the finances of the student. the drop zones policies. the training system being used. and the dzo, s own oppinion. there are good and bad points to every system, the trick is to identify them. then make a knowledgeble decision. example aff costs approx $1800 for the complete course, thats a big pay out in one go, were as iad or instructor assisted deployment (i dont like this but just a personal oppinion) is paid by the jump. at say$40 per jump. now by the time you get your license you pay the same. aff is faster you learn the same skills statick line takes longer but you learn more about the canopy. me i like aff as your done in a few days (but you sill need to learn canopy survival. i like statick line as you learn canopy survival and are constantly made to practice your drills. you pays your monie and takes your chances. ps i only teach AFF know! its better see dzo oppinion. i might be wrong but oppinions are like ah everybody has one. blue sky sand and sun.
  5. hi jennie. for your own safety every body will advise you the same seek out all the information and ask the manufactura. (no such thing as a silly question) just look after your health thats the most important thing!. good luck. blue sky sand and sun.
  6. hay there join the club it took me 16 SL jumps and numerus hints to take up golf (tug is in my log book!). best bet save up then do as many jumps as possible in on week or weekend, what you are looking for is continuity. one or two jumps a weekend and you are relearning for the first jump. give yourself a bbreak of a few weekends but dont drink the cash save it then one weekend set yourself 7 jumps i guarentie you can do it, welcome to the sport and blue skies. blue sky sand and sun.
  7. yes but regardles of the system, good or bad i have 2 choices train him to boc then he goes back and has to re learn pulling a shock handle lockated on hisright shoulder or suggest he sticks with the one training system / proggresion system at his home dropzone we dont use it here, (modern gear) i looked at his progresion log book and am trying to figure out what to do with him! blue sky sand and sun.
  8. hi there this is more in the way of asking advice, so names withheld. i have sombody just turned up, 15 jumps. jumps 1-5 sl jump6 3 sec delay jump 7 10 sec delay. jump 8 15 sec dealy. jumps 9-15 from 10k. using spring loaded system with release on the uper right shoulder!. single paint release system for malfunctions? ok never jumped with anybody in freefall with him. like what do i do with him? convert to boc? take through aff (step back). i keep thinking that if i train him boc and he panics he will go and grab the cutaway pad!. anybody with suggestions it,s a new one on me!. blue sky sand and sun.
  9. I know of a couple of tandems that landed at the wrong airport because the pilot pushed the wrong button on his GPS. dont know aabout you but when on tandem i dont jump if i cant see ground or know were i am! you did right for you made a desicion and stuck with it. as we can see from other posts it is not always unsafe just unwise if you dont think you have the experiene to handle it so its not some much a safety factore as a desision and information factore ie did you know the cloud base, before boarding, did you wear a life jacket? btw anybody know were i can get wrist mounting life jackets i think they are called aquaboys? blue skies keep thinking beat me spank me hit me flame me i like it.
  10. just a thought. welcome back skydiving is ment to be fun jump from a plane enjoy it but work on survival couple of tpps alt awerness simple turn or two then pull. next work on the canopy and your awerness, dont worry about the size (size dosnt matter
  11. its damn hor hear but no matter what the temp i wear a home made baggy simmilar to freefly being 5,2 dont help i think all my passengers are bigger than me!. it,s not just flying over them either, that extra grab you get makes all the diffrence on the video. the cam guys realy appriciate it. so i dont mind the extra bit of sweat. then again when i jump camera the tand master can wear what ever makes him feel good, (er i mean confident i think) it,s my job to be there not dictate the fashion i could be making his job harder. blue sky sand and sun.
  12. hi getting back to the subject. intentional cutaways. i have a lot of them logged during the making af a training video we re created malfunctions to record on video, i have to say that it was not fun. i dont have as much experience as some guys out there but i would not recomend doing it unless you know exactly what you are doing. the flip side is that i think i understand more know the nature of a malfunction, and how to deal with it, it,s made me a more confident skydiver, and a lot more careful with my gear. blue skies blue sky sand and sun.
