    I think you keep forgetting that the internet wasn't around at that time and there won't be much metadata floating around for AI to parse through. Records from the decades before the internet only exist on paper and that only, if someone thought it's worthy writing down. AI these days lives of metadata we leave behind by everything and anything we do online, especially social media and wikis. it doesn't matter how great your AI model is, if there is nothing to feed it with, it can't perform.

    In order to do that, someone has to upload a ton of photos from the 60' and 80' to the internet and put some references up along with them. Don't forget the internet as you know it, did not exist until the late 90'

    I didn't even know their canopies have such a bad reputation 8-O I really liked their A2's but I guess you cannot compare them to a sports canopy haha

    Well... It was sarcasm but it doesn't look like that's the right place for it. But then also, i am German and what do Germans know about sarcasm or fun stuff in general, right? Never mind! And no, I am certainly not Rhys, never met him, only heard about his "great" online reputation...just like here.

    Nobody want's to jump kids...it's horrible! But because it is legal here in nz and mexico, you get them every now and then. It is definitely not an attraction as TI and it certainly doesn't make the day easier. I don't remember what he pay was in mexico 6/7 years ago but probably somewhere around 20 ish usd plus handy cam.

    not sure what they do per year...the numbers i posted were for the weekends during holiday season around xmas. on weekdays it was rather slow. before covid NZone had 40+ instructors all year round, and that means something...

    yes, absolutely. All very organized with jump-run, vertical separation and landings. We had signals with our feet to signal to other TI's who's going to land first etc.. Been there for 10 weeks and witnessed only one tandem cutaway which is nothing considering how many tandems we had done. At the same time there were sport jumpers and students which landed in a different field to keep the tandem area clear. Would go there again anytime!

    The number is right and not exaggerated. NZone in New Zealand used to hold the record with some 460 ish tandems per day if I remember right. In 2017 we (I was one of the TI's) broke the record in Mexico with 467 on Saturday and 480 ish on Sunday (just before or after XMas) with 3 planes and 30 odd instructors. At the same time one year later in 2018 they did 501 with 3 planes and 30 odd instructors.

    a 140 is way too small for a student level skydiver unless your weight is around 80lbs

    if there is air trapped, it would most likely not cause it to pop off but there is a chance of pain which can be severe. As the plane goes up in altitude, the surrounding pressure drops and if there is air trapped, it will expand and if there are some nerves still intact, it can cause pain. If the dentist did a good job and sealed the root canals properly, there shouldn't be any air trapped where it can cause pain. If there is air trapped just under the temporary crown, it shouldn't be a problem. In SCUBA you deal with a lot more pressure difference, able to pop a filling or crown.

    I had written a program about 10 years ago encoding information in a bitmap. but turned out it is not very useful, as you will see, after just a few bytes, the pixels which don't match the surrounding pixels. so you can't really "hide" anything as such unless you keep the amount of data really low compared to the bitmap size. There are some programs looking for irregularity in pictures, they find it very quick as the color of the changed pixels don't match the pixels next to it. Plus a bitmap is huge for what you can encode in it. you are better off with just creating a binary file and encrypt it if that's what you are after.

    Seems like not many people know that but there is actually a legal requirement of what you have to log as a bare minimum. Every aviation activity has to be logged, not just under FAA rules. If you are a USPA member, there is SIM 3-1 outlining what you have to log for every jump. And if I remember right, each jump needs to be signed too.

    Yep, agreed! Unless he will get his hands on military equipment, there is no way due to above mentioned weight restrictions.
