FF2 - making the door stay open
flylikeahandbag replied to pilotdave's topic in Photography and Video
I just let it rest on the open LCD screen when I am using it in that mode. Still easy to see and use. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk -

Recommend a wide angle lense for Sony PC105
flylikeahandbag replied to lintern's topic in Photography and Video
As others have already stated you need to decide what you are going to use the lens for and buy the right product to match. If you want slimline like a WayCool then you are going to have to pay a little more. As a starter this was the lens I started with and was recommended to me. Its not slimline, but it does a good job (depending on what you wish to use it for). I still use this lens to good effect on my PC101. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006IVG9/qid=1149608081/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_3_2/203-0039216-4498377 Also speak to your local camera guys as there will be a wealth of knowledge to be gained. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk -

Waycool Blue Eye Lens 0.45
flylikeahandbag replied to flylikeahandbag's topic in Photography and Video
I wonder if anyone has come across this problem I have with this lens or similar lenses. I was using this lenses with a PC101, using it in manual focus. Everything would look in focus on the setup and play back when on the camera, but when played back on a larger screen some shots would be a little out of focus. I tried several times to adjust the focus even using a large screen, but it appears to be very sensitive to the focus setup up and unreliable IMO as I am now using the setup up for tandem video. I have reverted to my previous .5 Hama lens (uses infinity) and the problems have disappeared. I have also used a red eye .3 on this camera without any apparent problems (not a lot off jumps with it). I would appreciate if anyone has any ideas. suggestions as to the cause. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk -

Its a company machine so I have little control over the s/w. The problem has not occurred to date since the original two issues. If it had only occurred the once then I would probably not have reported anything, but since it happened twice in quick succession I though I would flag it up. I can only go on what was in the Trend log and that was intrusion prevention. The other info in the log was: "[217] Microsoft Multiple Application/OS GDI+ JPEG Processing Buffer Overflow Vulnerability attempt detected (CAN-2004-200)" Means nothing to me I'm afraid. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

Hi, I'm not sure whether this is a prob, or just over sensitive s/w at my end . My works machine uses Trend Sygate and twice in two days it has detected an intrusion attempt, whilst I have been connected to DZ.com resulting in a 24 hour ban on access to the site each time. Has anyone else come across this? I have attached a screen grab of the log FYI. Bst Rgds. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

Same here. Been using them (1 gig version) problem free in my 350D. Frame rates good and plenty fast when downloading. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

Same thing happened to mine. Fortunately it happened when I was setting it up, so just glued them back on, without any further problems. I found out later that they do come off quite easily and was recommended to re-glue them even if they don't seem to be a problem on any future setups. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

how very polite of you...
flylikeahandbag replied to slowfallerUK's topic in Introductions and Greets
Think I know the Tom that your are referring too. He is still jumping at Peterlee. Yes we have a Cessna 182 that does not have a door. Can be a tad chilly in the winter. There is also a Nomad at the moment. See you soon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk -

Hi Tim, What DZ do you jump at? If you happen to get to Peterlee, which is probably the closest to you, give me a shout and introduce yourself. -
Mounting a stroboframe backwards
flylikeahandbag replied to mr2mk1g's topic in Photography and Video
Have mine mounted backwards on my FF2 for that reason. No problems encountered. -
what do you think of the 2kcomposites FF2
flylikeahandbag replied to Bryguy1224's topic in Photography and Video
Very happy with my FF2. I would certainly recommend them. Good quality with no snag points (unless you fit a ring sight, stills) in which case I would also recommend the cutaway system. -

I have the FF2 and a PC101 and tried this set up, but found that the right angle connector kept catching the back light button (I think, as I don't have the cam to hand) giving unreliable results with the functioning of my cameye. When this occurred the top right min counter changed to a C123 display what ever that is. Removed it and have had no problems since. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

Black Beaver confirmed. Big way wont be such a big way now. 10 max in the beaver. Hopefully we will still be able to sort something.

Reasons for wearing altimeter on leg strap?
flylikeahandbag replied to freeflyfree's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You don't use it, but its a legal requirement that you wear one. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk -
Looks like it will probably be the black beaver. Rumor has it that the Nomad still crocked. Pabs Edit to add that the beaver is a genuine aircraft http://www.para-flite.dk/beaver.htm -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

Sony have a fixed price for most repairs in the UK around £165. Costs go up if its not a fix within this price. They will charge you around £60 if you decide not to go ahead with the repair. The main service centre number is 08702 408060. They will give you exact prices. Good luck -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

No, but i will suggest that he buys me tunnel time . I would definitely recommend tunnel time if you wish to improve your skills, but I would also recommend getting coaching with it to make the best of the time and progress quicker. Off course this is assuming the UK prices are reasonable in comparison to jump ticket prices.
