Housing Benefits if you are more than 50% Hawaiian
bigbearfng replied to DiverMike's topic in Speakers Corner
“Please do not feed the squirrels. If you feed the squirrels, they'll become overweight and prone to disease. Their population will grow, and they'll lose their ability to forage for food on their own. They will expect you to feed them and will attack you if you don't. They'll become like little welfare recipients, and you wouldn't want to do this to them.” - A sign in the Rocky Mountain National Park which aptly summarizes the welfare problem -
Jersey woman stabbed to death waiting for Gun Permit
bigbearfng replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
This would be one of those rather liberal definitions of "friend." Acquintance would be the proper word, but even that suggests a positive relationship, not that it's a member of a rival gang member who you know as Crackerjack. As funny as kallend's usual distortions are, it's troubling that at least two of you go on to blame the victim for not "doing something" to protect herself. She did, and the police and our failed concept of waiting periods failed her. Were she a FRIEND of mine, I'd lend her a weapon for the wait, along with the important element of taking her to the range. This is why you get a gun before you actually need one. 10 days or 30/2-3 months is too long if someone else threatens you. I was trying to figure what to say without it becoming a PA. You nailed it for me- I'm afraid the blame the victim crowd really pisses me off! Rates right up there with Orange County judge Marc Kelly-now that guy's the epitome of a piece of shit! -

Hmm I don't agree. US doesn't like vocal critics either, look it up there are plenty of political and social movement prisoners in US. Plus allowing critics doesn't mean dealing with problem, dog barks caravan moves on. ________________________________________________ I was reading your posts and really listening. However with this and other recent comments you've been making you've proven to me that you are just another muslim apologist/propagandist. Either that or you're in extreme denial.

I could care less what folk wear or don't wear-but I have to draw the line at the full face covering. On that I completely agree with France's ban. It's a basic safety issue. Many banks here have signs stating no masks, hoodies or even sunglasses inside. Take a guess why? If you want to get a driver's license you have to get your picture taken for ID of yourself. Take it off or don't get a license. There is no discrimination with those examples. If I went to a muslim country I certainly would expect to abide by their customs-so why not the reverse also?

This should be good! Lets go one step further too! Permit revoked for a bad enough reason (like the dirtbag whose dirtbag boyfriend wanted a threesome with her 13 year old daughter and she agreed and brought the poor kid) then mandatory sterilization!!!!

Hi Suslique, Thanks for your refreshing and (for this forum), unique and rare perspective. I've been posting in SC for a while and I don't recall reading a post from Muslim woman. I see you quote "oppressed" in jest above -- but, living in a free society and seeing Muslim women wearing clothing from top to bottom on warm and sunny spring days while most other people (including the men accompanying women in said clothing) are wearing whatever they feel is most suitable to the weather -- can you kindly share your personal take on this dress code that your religion requires? Genuinely curious to hear your views on this. Thanks, Hi there, thanks for kind feedback Well all of abrahamic religions stress the importance of modesty for both men and women and have almost similar approach regarding the dress code. The purpose is simply said -- modesty. As someone who decided to wear hijab I her 20's I want to assure you that when its hot its hot both in sundress or hijab. Hijab is even more comfortable at times since skin is not exposed under the sun and in summer we wear breathable light fabrics anyways. personal benefits as I see them go beyond the modesty. There are two moments that I feel are very important: 1. No more sexual objectification; 2. Women don't feel societies pressure to fit into certain fashion/beauty trends which makes women more confident. Hijab is not only clothing but also attitude and speech. There's a hijab for men as well BTW:) generally speaking (for men) clothes should not be skin tight, especially between navel and knees. Eyeballing females (and vise versa) is forbidden etc I.e. they should be modest as well. My own experience with hijab was the feeling of freedom and liberation. I've never liked the unwanted attention of men and getting rid of that was priceless. Im still living an active lifestyle, so hijab was never a problem for me in this case. Some people think that we wear hijab 24/7 its not true:) its only compulsory in front of non-blood related men. We don't wear hijab in front of husband, women or close unmarriageable men relatives. I want to stress the fact that there is no compulsion in religion! If someone somewhere is forcing their daughters/wives to wear hijab it has nothing to do with Islam, its cultural crap. Today especially in western world women are actually fighting for their freedom to choose hijab and wear it! Some have to deal with their families and some with their governments. Which is ridiculous, government should keep itself away from lives of their citizens. Today they will forbid Muslim women wear their hijab, tomorrow they will intrude in private lives of non-muslims. Anyways, if you have any extra questions, feel free to ask me:) Cheers I had to go searching for pics of skydiving with hijab- However as you describe it for modesty-then what about all these women who are wearing a headscarve with tight jeans etc? So is hijab just a headscarve? Or the full gown etc? Just seems like if you went to certain countries wearing a headscarve and jeans you would be confronted by the religious police? Sorry-I'm trying to make sense of this but it's just not adding up for me........

I'm sorry, but I'm just having a hard time picturing that!

So then by the rules of hijab- you can't skydive??????

If these are local rules, it's your pond. So then why not set them, but with waivers only by your approval. Then you can use your common sense. In your WS example I wouldn't say no ellipticals for WS would necessarily be a hard and fast rule. But it would be a very rare occasion to grant a waiver especially for first WS jump. eg: a friend of mine on his first WS jump used his usual little pocket rocket canopy-perfect on heading opening, no problem. However he has well over 20,000 jumps with at least 15,000 on those canopies, so in this very rare instance I didn't feel any concern.

If that's how they were trained to do it then their training was not in accordance with NYPD policy, which will probably have implications for the lawsuit. As I read the responses similar I'm afraid I can't help but say something...... It's the "best laid plans" Of course I wasn't there/involved/don't know details of their training so I also can't say for sure....... Just throwing out a personal example- Dirtbag takes a swing at another dep. I was just approaching-perfect position, run in lock up his arm with a control hold as trained and take him down for cuffing with no injuries. Only problem was in the dark-winter and he standing on a sheet of ice next to the road. So we both went flyin with him on bottom. So he gets pretty scraped up. Again it was all textbook perfect...... except for the ice....... It just seems like reality is never textbook perfect. As for after Garner's cuffed, they do roll him on his side and leave his legs free-SOP for training now a days. This after more than one very obese person has died after cuffing and being put on their stomach or if kicking they had their feet "hogtied" to the cuffs behind their back. This simply due to their obesity physically affecting their ability to breath in some positions. So either sit them up or roll them on their side and leave their legs free. Only criticism I can see as valid is Billy's-once it was obvious he stopped breathing even though placed on his side call for/render medical aid immediately. Side note-does anyone know if NYPD issues/carries pocket masks to patrol officers? If not I don't believe anyone wouldn't hesitate about giving mouth to mouth....... As for what Garner's daughter did-just another dirtbag.....

Are you saying that he didn't work at Fort Hood, or that shooting your workmates isn't violent? BUMP. Someone else who suddenly went silent when asked a simple question. Yup, he did work at Fort Hood and what he did was violent. The point is the motive..... http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/oct/10/nidal-hasan-self-described-solder-of-allah-touts-j/ So it was workplace violence, then. Glad we got that out of the way. Didn't realize you were a follower of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon and the Moonies. Gotta love the way you ignore what you don't want to see..... And what the hell does the moonies have to do with anything?????? How can you ignore the motive????????? I was about to try to engage in a real conversation...... But forget it...............useless with some folk............ -

Without more information it is a stupid exercise. Take the 12 year old in Cleveland. The way the police handled the situation it is a justified shooting. Most sane people realize that if the police had handled the situation with tact that 12 year old would likely still be alive. So, in the US that is a justified shooting. In the rest of the modern world that shooting would not have taken place. So easy to be a "Monday morning quarterback"........... Yup, hindsight is always 20/20.
