What about passing through the barrier of learning how to fly your body granted it's a bigger barrier to some of us then it is to others ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

Thanks for all the advice guys. There was some stuff mentioned that I didn't even think about. Another of the reasons I love this site, years of experience at your fingertips

No money yet, hence the "tentative permission to window shop" Just feeling out my options at the moment. Hopefully by spring ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

No they don't. That was also in the plan. Finding some kind of cypress to put in it. Be it used or new, depending on the finances. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

I'm a newly licensed jumper with tentative permission from the wife to start window shopping for gear. I was originally going to go the used route, but looking through Parachutist I found a couple of ads for "gear bundles" Basically a Wings container, Pilot main, and Smart reserve. I figure with the options I would want could get the setup for about 3500. I was looking at allotting 3000 for used gear. My question is would it be worth the extra 500 for the all brand new, fitted to me stuff? I'm only going to get about 50 jumps a year do to work so I don't see myself downsizing much at all. Maybe (and that's a big maybe) one size in about 3 or 4 years. Will it be worth the extra money to go new or should I stick to my original plan and buy used? Thank you for any input. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

I think the orientation thing might be that it's a magnet not a sticker, and it might slide around a bit. My mom has 2 on her truck (yellow and pink I think) and you can see where they have slid around a little on the dust. When she slams the hatch they seem to slide down and to the side a little. LCS=League Championship series. It's a playoff system to see who the 2 teams are that will play in the world series ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

Yep there was some pretty sloppy play. My 8 yr olds little league team looked better than the pros at some points. I would have liked to have seen at least 6 games too. I just really thought it would be more of a fight, but I guess it'd be hard to top the two LCS's. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

It's basically just the US, there is a couple (now only 1 I think) teams in Canada and all the foreign born players, but it's all American teams. Don't ask me why they call it "The World Series" but they do ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

World Series of baseball. I know it isn't exactly a "world" series, but that's what they call it
-
Does anyone else feel a little let down by the Series? I mean after all the great ball played throughout the playoffs, to have one team completely dominate the other is kind of a bummer. After the 2 LCS's I was really expecting a classic series, not a 4 game quickie that wasn't ever close. Congrats to Boston none the less, I was just hoping for more of a chase. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

You aren't gonna get any work done today are you?? Have fun, and be sure to ask if you can sit on the floor of the commercial plane ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

and don't forget about us lonely railroaders too. Flash a train if you get stopped at a crossing

You should take the obit in to work and see if you can get some time off to go to your funeral

I've been following along for awhile and there are some good points made on both sides. How about instead of re education, make the offending jumper go to the first jump course and talk to the students about his lose of altitude awareness and the consequences of losing altitude awareness. Talk to the students about how and why it happened etc etc. It's not exactly re education, but it is educating up and coming jumpers and making them be on the DZ when they can't jump, and really making them think about what they did wrong etc. Kind of like getting sentenced to community service for the first time offenders of a DUI, having to talk to high school kids about it. Just a suggestion. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

The one I had a few months ago, I burned in. Didn't even attempt to pull. I sheepishly climbed out of the crater (and man did I make a HUGE crater) and looked around thinking "Boy I sure hope nobody saw that" and then I see the guy that took my sister on her first tandem standing by the hanger laughing and pointing at me. It was really strange. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

Holy shit, after seeing that second one I might want to sign up for an observation ride

Whoa, I never knew it was that complicated. Before I was married I sorted them work clothes and non work clothes and had three baskets. Dirty work clothes, dirty regular clothes and clean clothes. Thanks Skymama, I should be safe then....whew ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

Oh no, last time I did just a pick up load at the end of the day. I combined everything and it made 1 nice size load. Holy Cow. She wasn't exactly pissed, but she wasn't doing a happy dance either LOL ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

The ones you really have to watch out for are the ones the act normal but are actually pyscho. I just read something in Readers Digest where this true crime writer was trying to write about the Bundy murders before they knew who was doing it. Turns out ole Teddy was working in the same office with her and she didn't have a clue. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
