  1. Same thing happened with my rig when it came in. Sat on the front porch all day even though it required a signature. I was a little peeved to have 6K worth of stuff sitting on my front step all day. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  2. I have them occasionally. Usually running a couple of trains together. I usually take it as a sign I'm working too hard and take about 4 days off. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  3. Just a quick update, the dog is now a member of the metal club. Couple of pins, a plate and a bunch of screws but is expected to be chasing everything (and I do mean everything.) in about a month or so. My sister is gonna need some therapy on her shoulder but no surgery as of right now. Renee, thanks, I'll be sure to let her know. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  4. What the hell kind of logic is that? It was something about the farmers who get in and out of their trucks all day lobbied for and got. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  5. In Indiana (where I'm from and the accident happened) if you are in a truck you don't have to wear one. But I think I'm gonna start using mine anyway ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  6. Thanks for reminding me the shuttle is launching today, I had forgot ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  7. Dog was lucky, got thrown out during the accident ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  8. I'm normally really bad about not wearing a seatbelt. After this weekend I think I'm going to start wearing it all the time. Attached are pictures of my sister's truck after being rolled 4 times. She walked away with a separated shoulder and her dog broke his leg. All in all she's really lucky, and it has opened my eyes to the importance of seat belt usage. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  9. I have a couple good "F-bomb" stories. When I was about 12 my brother wrecked my dad's truck. This was an old truck that had an old tool box bolted to the bed. Dad wanted to get the box out of the truck before he junked it. My dad couldn't get any leverage under the truck so he decided he'd hold the bolt from the top and he told me "Get under there and give 'er all you got" I had more than he thought I did. When the bolt broke my arm hitting the frame of the truck moved the truck 6 inches sideways. I came flying out from under the truck, threw the wrench and let go a really impressive string of profanity. My dad was dually impressed but told me to never use that kind of language in front of my mom. Fast forward a bunch of years, married with kids. The wife and I were watching TV while our oldest son, about 5 or 6 was playing video games in the other room. We hear the sound of a video game controller being thrown done and we hear "FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK" My wife and I looked at each other in disbelief then went up to him and asked what he said. His reply was "Darn????" We kind of chuckled and explained to him why he shouldn't use that word. Haven't had any problem out of him since, but Kim and I have a chuckle about it occasionally. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  10. Hey guys, I need some help. I coach a little league team with 13 boys on it. I want to give out end of season awards but I'm having trouble coming up with 13 different ones so each kid gets one. I need some for the younger kids that aren't really that good yet. So what I'm asking is for some obscure baseball awards that I can give out to some 8 and 9 year olds. Thanks for any suggestions ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  11. yeah I think it's supposed to be something like that. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  12. ....unless you happen to be a Yankee fan, but then it's still pretty damn funny http://www.dailysixer.com/bbyanks.shtml ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  13. :6:2 Saturday I helped out with the FJC and only got on the last load of the day (beer accuracy) which I won. Sunday did my first tube dive, and got my first kiss pass on my first jump of the day. 2nd jump was my first cross country which was really cool. Can't wait to do another of those. And the 3rd was a really cool low pressure 4 way that blew apart but was still smiles all around. Today I went out and did my 2 eval jumps to work on my coach rating. Thanks to Larry for taking me up on them and giving me a ton of information on working with students. All in all a great weekend. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  14. It was one of those inside the park with a couple of throwing errors home runs that are common in Little League, but he didn't know the difference ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  15. They are sponsored by a company called "Star Tool and Die" ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  16. I hear ya. I love being a coach. It's tough with my job but I make all the games I can. Last night I took pictures of all the kids at different points of the game, printed off 2 or 3 of the best ones of each kid and will give them to the parents at the game Wed. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  17. Usually I'm coaching or umpiring but last night I had the oppurtunity to shoot some pictures. I wanted to share one special picture I took that shows what Little League should be all about. This is a boy on my son's team right after he hit a homerun. Unfortunetely it was in a losing effort but he doesn't seem to care, he's completely in the moment. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  18. 0:4:1 (my son owes 2 also) Yea!!! I actually have numbers to post. Coached little league Saturday so I didn't get to the DZ till about 4 but got 3 jumps in. A hop and pop from 4500 with my 9 yr old son along for his first airplane ride. Did some back flips off the step for him, he really enjoyed it, but he didn't like the landing too well, go figure . Then made a couple of uneventful 3 ways just for fun. On the last one I get in the pickup van to find my 9 yr old was driving. They let him drive (with supervision of course) out to pick us up and drive all the way back. I had let him steer before sitting on my lap but this was his first time working the pedals too. Sunday I went out and sat thru the FJC for the first time working on my coach rating. That was interesting. Had one student that we didn't think was going to do very good, she really wasn't paying much attention and was more concerned about her daughter. We were on a student wind hold and caught her drinking in the parking lot so it probably worked out for the best. I got 1 really good 4 way on sunday then the winds came up some more so we turned on the beer light. All and all a great weekend. Not sure who had more fun though me or my son. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  19. I'm not sure yet, my wife just brought home a kitten. The bulldog and Schnauzer could care less, but the older mixed breed dog doesn't like him so far. I keep waiting for Lobo to eat the cat while the kids are at school and me to get blamed for it since I"m not a cat person and not real happy with the addition to the family. I can hear it now "MOM, dad fed the cat to Lobo!!!!" ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  20. The one my for fun 3 way team (cessna 182) is "We Kick Ass" ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  21. Just saw a great sail boat name the other day. I saw it dry docked. The boats name was "Blow Me Away" but I'm pretty sure the "Away" was below the water line when it was in the lake. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  22. I really don't like them. I'm an engineer on the railroad and there are several at crossings along my route. The problem I have with them is the guys on the train crew that hit this person now have to be reminded of it every day when they go past that spot and see the memorial. It can be a pretty tough thing to get over anyway for some people and having a visual reminder of it everyday makes it that much harder. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  23. I got my Wings last year and love it. The customer service I recieved was exceptional. There was a miscommunication between my dealer and Wings so my order didn't actually get to the factory until 4 weeks after I had placed my order. They let me cut in line where I would have been had my order got there on time. Still with the same delivery date. I also had a minor legpad issue when I got it. The pads were a little long. I called Ankie about it and she had me email her pictures and I had new legpads in 3 days at no charge. When I buy another container it will be a Wings. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  24. At my little Cessna DZ hands down the people are the coolest thing there. We don't have much but we have a great group of people with a great vibe and we have a blast. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  25. Yes I think that would be a good idea. Once you feel comfortable at the new DZ I would definetely take them out for a day and have them talk to some instructors to answer their questions. When my sister and I did our first static line jumps we didn't tell our parents anything about it. I had my wife bring them to the airport after the first jump course. Mom asked her "why are we at the airport?" and they walked in the hanger just as we were getting geared up. It kind of freaked her out a little at first but then she started talking to the instructors and a few up jumpers and it really put her mind at ease. And since she didn't have a week or so to think about it, she couldn't think up all the bad stuff and worry about it too much. Although the shock of it was a little rough ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
